Caron Butler’s story should be one of those “what if” stories about a wasted talent that threw away his basketball career because of off the court problems. Ironically for Butler, the boy who was arrested 15 times by the time he was 15, didn’t discover basketball until he was in a detention center.
Where most other similar stories involve the player getting caught in a cycle of trouble that prevents them from taking advantage of their basketball talents, Butler’s story took him to college then the NBA lottery to a NBA championship and now the Thunder where his inspirational story is still being written.
