It was the summer of 2011 when a 6’11 200 pound 16 year old in the 7th grade named Thon Maker arrived at the John Lucas Middle School Combine. He didn’t just arrive at the camp, he arrived on the internet and on the radar of every basketball scout in the world.

Earlier this month, the #1 player of the Class of 2016 attended John Lucas’ Midwest Camp and City League Hoops was there to see the growth and capture footage of the basketball “BEAST” that is Thon Maker.

According to Thon’s guardian Ed Smith, UK, Indiana, Kansas, Standford, Missouri and Maryland are “recruiting Maker the heaviest.”
