Through The Years Photos: Carmelo Anthony & La La

Damn you Phi Jackson. If his front office moves and words weren’t damaging enough to the Knicks organization, the failure and stress of being under his reign has reportedly taken it’s toll on the personal life of their franchise player.

Carmelo Anthony and actress La La have reportedly separated and the Knicks soap opera supposedly played a part. Who knows how much of that is true (or the other “juicier” rumor circulating the net right now) but what I do know is the couple — engaged in 2004 and married in 2010 —  have been one of the most amusing and high profile couples in basketball for the past decade and a half.  They were on MTV Cribs, their wedding was reality show that spawned another reality show (La La’s Full Court Life), their snapchat bickering is entertaining and if it wasn’t for them we wouldn’t have had the infamous “she taste like Honey Nut Cheerios” incident with KG back in 2013.  In La La’s book ‘The Love Playbook,’ she denied Garnett made those comments to her husband but it’s more fun to believe he did.

So, as a father and a man who has been married for 15 years (considered killing my wife for 12 – JK!), I’m hoping the rest of the Banana Boat crew can step in and help Melo and La La work things out and keep a ring on his finger. And as a Melo fan of 13 years, I’m hoping Melo can get the F out of New York and maybe team up with others on the Banana Boat crew and win a championship ring to go with his wedding ring.

Here’s a look back at the couple throughout the years. Thank God, he stopped wearing those awful baggy pants.
