It’s going to be a while until we believe Timofey Mozgov is worth $64 million but on Tuesday, even though it’s a preseason and even though the Lakers lost to the Warriors, the former Champion Cavs center had three plays worth the price of admission.
The first play came in the first quarter, when he slapped a Steph Curry layup out of bounds.
The second play came early in the 3rd quarter, when he posterized new Warriors center Zaza Pachulia (only getting paid $2.9 million this season)
The third and best play by MozGOD came a few minutes later when he had a chase-down block on Kevin Durant that would make his former teammate LeBron James proud.
The funniest thing about MozGOD’s performance against the Warriors is his final stat line was just 4 points, 2 rebounds and 2 blocks in 15 minutes before leaving with a tailbone injury, which means just about ever stat he had was a Sportscenter Top 10 worthy highlight.
As for Curry, KD and the Warriors. Curry finished with 32 and Durant had 27 as the Warriors won 123-112.
