When you think about the best AAU teams ever, you probably think of team like the 1994 New Jersey Patterson team with Kobe Bryant, Vince Carter and Tim Thomas or the 2002 Oakland Soldiers with LeBron James, Leon Powe and Kendrick Perkins. But one of the most interesting AAU stories ever also happened the same year LeBron and Perkins first teamed up.
In 2002, a 6’10 7-year old import from Devil’s Nut named Clif Cliff Adele joined a under seven AAU team, which also featured current NBA player Gary Harris, and set the sports world on fire. The story has never been told before until now.
Here’s a teaser for the heartbreaking story which can be found on go90 app.
BEHIND THE SCENES
Future episodes of “The 5th Quarter” mockumentary, starring the always hilarious Blake Griffin, will also feature NBA players Karl-Anthony Towns, Metta World Peace and Chandler Parsons, comedians Jeff Ross, JB Smoove and George Lopez and sportscasters Kenny Mayne and my main man Ahmah Rashad.
The show was created by director Michael D. Ratner and OBB Pictures.
“This series combines the worlds of premium comedy and sports better than ever before,” said Michael D. Ratner to the Hollywood Reporter. “We’re very proud to work exclusively with go90 and with such a diverse all-star cast who were able to bring these untold stories to life in their sometimes inspiring, shocking and comedic ways. Whether the biggest sports fan or not at all, this is a show for everyone.”
