In 2006 Kobe Bryant changed his number from 8 to 24.  A year later, the Lakers traded Brian Cook and Maurice Evans for Trevor Ariza.  After a productive 2nd season with LA, especially in the 2009 playoffs and NBA finals against the Orlando Magic, Trevor took his championship ring to Houston for a nice payday.

Currently stuck on a bench in Washington, the Wizard posted a pic of himself walking around Philly wearing a #8 Kobe Jersey that had hundreds of his followers commenting and wishing that he was back with the Lakers.

I agree it would be a nice addition but as Bullets Forever pointed out, “his contract may be harder to move than you think.
