Elite 24 Highlights: In the 2009 game played at the famous Gauchos Gym in
the Bronx because of inclement weather at Rucker Park, Barnes helped the Skip To My Lou squad record a 133-120 win over The Goat squad by scoring 18 points.
Post Elite 24: Barnes finished as Ames High School’s all-time leading scorer with 1,787 points and was named 2010 Mr. Basketball USA over fellow Elite 24 alumnus Jared Sullinger. He entered North Carolina as one of the most renowned freshman ever; he was named preseason A.P. first team All-American. After two seasons at UNC, Barnes was the No. 7 pick of the 2012 NBA Draft and recently helped the Golden State Warriors win their first NBA title in 40 years.
