Elite 24 Highlights: Played in the inaugural Boost Mobile Elite 24, leading the “Skip To My Lou” squad to a 141-139 win over the “Goat” club by scoring a team-high 26 points and grabbing nine rebounds. The game was the plot for the documentary “Gunnin’ For That #1 Spot”, directed by Adam Yauch of Beastie Boys fame. The film centered on eight of the game’s players, including Beasley, and opened in theaters June 2008.
Post Elite 24: Won MVP honors at the 2007 McDonald’s All-American Game with 23 points and 12 rebounds and went on to earn consensus first team All-American honors as a freshman in college after recording a nation-leading 28 double-doubles. He was the No. 2 pick of the 2008 NBA Draft.
