These former Kentucky Wildcats sure know how to show each other some love. During the first quarter of the Lakers/Kings tech fest, Boogie Cousins tackled Julius Randle for no reason…and got away with it. This didn’t sit well with Coach Luke Walton, who ended up getting ejected sticking up for Randle.
“Ahh, I love my coach, man,” said Randle. “That’s my guy. He backs me up with everything. He has all of our backs 100 percent.”
I’m not trying to start anything (because there is nothing bad between them) but it is pretty amusing that this play happened so early in the game and in the final seconds of their last meeting, Cousins and Randle exchanged some words after the game was over. After that game, Boogie said his confrontation was “just some friendly UK love” and Randle is like a “little brother” to him.
As for the rest of this game, little brother had just two points on 1 of 7 shooting and big brother Boogie had a game-high 31 points and 16 rebounds in the 116-92 win for the Kings.
