Serious question: If Gordon Hayward was a black guy in New York instead of a white guy in Utah, would he be popular?

The 26-year old from Indiana doesn’t get much love outside of Utah and fantasy leagues but he’s a lot of fun to watch and can put up All-Star numbers. His 24 points on Friday was his 8th 20+ point game in his 11 games this season. He’s averaging seven boards a contest, occasionally flirts with a triple-double and finds a way to make the nightly highlights on a nightly basis. Still, those routine dunks and chase-down blocks feel like a surprise and I think that’s because he’s a white guy, playing in Utah, with a hairstyle that makes most white men jealous and wonder how he keeps it so “flawless” looking throughout the game.

Seriously, how does his hair not get messed up after a play like this to end a quarter of action?

So hopefully by sharing these highlights and highlighting his career best numbers, the underrated and unappreciated Hayward can start to get a little extra love.

Speaking of love, his lovely wife deserves a shout out for being so lovely looking, a mother of two and for being his stylist.

I’m assuming she took the day off in the following pic.
