The Grizzlies had a 9-8 lead in the first quarter and that was the last time they ever had a lead. Vince Carter gave them a little spark in the 3rd quarter and had the crowd showing a little vinsanity after he converted an and1 layup with seconds left in the 3rd but they were still down by 19 after Carter flexed his muscles.
On the positive side, the Grizzlies were only outscored by 2 in the 2nd half but still lost by 17. Carter had 10 points and 7 rebounds in 24 minutes.
For old schoolers like me who had a bad case of Vinsanity in the late 90s, game 4 took place on the 14th anniversary of Carter’s 50 point game against the 76ers when he dropped 34 and 8 3-pointers in the first half.
