In what was supposed to be a great night honoring 1/3 of the Run TMC turned into a boo fest for Warriors owner Joe Lacob who traded Warrior favorite Monte Ellis.  Lacob, bothered by the boos, struggled getting through his speech so Mullin came to his rescue and tried to stick up for him.

Mullin told the crowd, “As the greatest fans in the NBA, as everyone stated, sometimes change is inevitable, and it’s gonna work out just fine—with your support and patience. And use that passion in the right direction. This thing is going in the right direction. I’ve got great confidence in Joe, Mark Jackson, and everything will work out just fine. Use that passion.”

The crowd kept booing which led Warriors legend and ready to throw down Rick Barry to come out and scold the crowd.

“One second here. Come on, people,” Barry implored. “You fans are the greatest fans in the world. … Show a little bit of class. This is a man who I’ve spent some time talking to. He is gonna change this franchise. This is crazy. Seriously. Come on. You’re doing yourself a disservice. All the great accolades that are being said to you, for you to treat this man, who is spending his money to turn this franchise around—and I know he’s gonna do it. So give him the respect he deserves.”

Since the GS franchise wasn’t able to give Mullin a proper tribute WE WILL!   Check out the best of Mully after the pic of a really pissed of Rick Barry.
