Spike Lee’s 2009 documentary on Kobe Bryant called “Kobe Doin’ Work” was mediocre at best.  So here’s hoping the upcoming Showtime documentary called “Kobe Byrant’s Muse” will be better.  It’s already generated some buzz thanks to the new SI feature on Kobe that told a behind the scenes story about Steve Nash being asked to describe Kobe in 3 words for the film.  Nash’s response was a “motherfucking asshole.”  I personally think a clip of Nash saying that followed by a clip of Kobe smiling would be a better teaser but this black and white teaser isn’t bad at all.

It’s also good to hear that this film already has distribution and will be on TV. In the past few years we have seen so many trailers for documentaries being made, including a Steve Nash one and most recently an Allen Iverson one, that we end up missing or forgetting about when it went straight to DVD, VOD or never got picked up at any film festivals.

How many of these documentaries did you see.
