Rookie Patrick Beverley might of had a coming out party last night against OKC but don’t expect Russell Westbrook to invite him to any of his future parties.
Beverley was doing everything against the Thunder, racking up 16 points, 12 boards, 6 assists, 2 steals, 1 block and a couple of unnecessary, some would argue dirty, plays on Westbrook. With the Rockets up 1 midway in the 2nd quarter, Westbrook was casually heading to the sideline to call a timeout when a sneaky Beverley tried to time a steal before the whistle was blown and ended up bumping knees with Westbrook. Russell hopped around for a bit, slammed the scorers table, looked over at the Rockets bench and made a mental note to remain pissed off at Beverley.
Just a minute later, Beverley collided with Westbrook again knocking him to the floor. When Patrick offered an extended hand to help him up Westbrook slapped his hand away.

Despite 29 points by Westbrook (2-8 in the 4th), the Thunder barely survived after almost blowing a 15 point lead thanks to a 21-2 run led by the Rockets’ Rookie.
Westbrook always seems to have memorable plays in Houston so I expect to see more of the same in Game 3.
Anybody that knows me knows I’m not going to back down from anyone, whether it’s Westbrook or anyone else.” – Beverley on match-up with Westbrook
