Tekele Cotton’s poster dunk over Illinois State’s John Jones was the nail in the coffin. Wichita State had a 16 point lead with a little more than 5 minutes left in the game when the 6’2″ guard went baseline and threw down the dunk of the year nominee.
“Oh man, that was quite a play,” said Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall. “Tremendous. Tekele’s just a tremendous athlete and it seemed like he never stopped rising. It was just a throw — a throw-down into the hole.”
Throw-down into the hole – sure!
