Wolves Snap Losing Streak Behind 37 Points From Towns & 1 “Great” Foul Call
The T-Wolves snapped a six-game losing streak on Tuesday thanks to 37 points by Karl-Anthony Towns and a very questionable foul call at the end of the game. Down by two with three seconds left in regulation, the refs called a foul on Jeff Teague after Ricky Rubio bumped into his own teammate. The contact led to three clutch free throws and a one-point victory.
Wolves coach Tom Thibodeau declined to comment about the final call and Towns hilariously referenced that “honest hooper” commercial about “sportsmanship” when asked about it.
“I don’t know what you want me to say, it was a bad call,” Said Karl, who had his 4th 37-point game of the season. “You ever seen those basketball commercials where it’s like `I got to tell coach, it’s on me?’ We don’t do that here. No, it was a great call.”
Here’s the commercial (it looks like it’s not working but it is).
And here’s some bonus videos, including the best highlights from Rubio and Towns.
