Kelly Oubre Jr is different. I've been saying that about him since his high school days in H-Town and when I met him at our All-American game in 2014. I also seem to be saying that every few weeks after posting the latest video of him getting hype before a game.

In Game 2 of the Wizards' series against the Raptors, a video of Drake calling Oubre a "bum" went viral. After the game, Oubre was asked about it and he gave a pretty great answer.

After being asked about his recent "Delon Wright doesn’t play well anywhere else, you know, other than at home" comment, Oubre gave an even greater response. A response so great, it sounds like something Kanye West would tweet.

Kelly Oubre Jr. clarified comments he made about Delon Wright only playing well at home, saying they were “misconstrued.” Oubre was asked after Game 5 why Raptors role players like Wright play better at home in this series. Initially, Oubre declined comment but later, while answering a different question about the Wizards' poor shooting in Toronto, the forward said that Game 6 could be “a different story” because “we are back at home, just like Delon doesn't play well anywhere else other than at home, you can kind of chalk it up as the same story [for the Wizards role players].” Oubre explained today, “I repeated the question in my answer which the question was why doesn't he play well [away from] home? Obviously, the story sounds sexy when I say [he only] plays well at home. He is a great player. He has been playing really well this season and this playoff series, especially… He's in my draft class, so why wouldn't I want him to succeed… I am not trying to get into psychological warfare. He can take it very personally but if he wants to go to war, I am the wrong person to go to war against. If I die, I am going to come back to life and kill you. It's all good man.”

Hearing this was like the first time I heard Liam Neeson in Taken give the "I will come for you" speech to the guy who just kidnapped his daughter. Instead of saying "Good luck," like the kidnapper, here's what Wright had to say about Oubre's initial comments.

“That's his opinion. I didn't play as good as I did at home there, but he made it seem like I was a total bust. We’ll see in Game 6.”

“I’ve got a quote ready for him after we win."

I can't wait for Game 6! And Oubre is starting too!
