When Hedo Turkoglu announced his retirement earlier this week, this meant only Mike Miller and Jamal Crawford were left from the 2000 NBA draft. Unlike Mike and most NBA players that came into the league before 2000 and looking like a shell of their former selves (that’s not a putdown that’s just the honest truth), 35 year old Jamal Crawford is still putting up numbers and highlights the way he did 5, 10 and 15 years ago. The only thing keeping Crawford from putting up big numbers on a nightly basis is minutes.
On Saturday, with Chris Paul and J.J. Redick sidelined, Crawford got a boost in minutes and helped boost the Clips to victory behind a season-high 37 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds. 31 of those 37 came in the first 3 quarters and he sealed the win by scoring the last 4 points for the Clips at the charity stripe.
