Amar’e Stoudemire blocks 3 shots & gives Thompson the Mutombo finger wag

Amar’e Stoudemire is averaging .5 blocks a game this season.  He’s averaged less than 2 blocks a game in 11 of his 12 seasons and has always been criticized for his defense. But, last night against the Cavs, he must have felt possessed by Dikembe Mutombo when he blocked a season high 3 shots and even did the finger wag after blocking Tristan Thompson.

The Mutombo homage might have been a little over the top.

Deke averaged over 3 blocks 8 times in his career and over 4 twice. He even averaged more than a block a game in his final season when he averaged just 10 minutes and keep in mind Deke was 50 in that final season. Actually he wasn’t but supposedly nobody really knows how old he is.  We just all know that he was one of the best defensive players of all-time and Amar’e Stoudemire was….a very good offensive player.
