Ben Simmons Impresses With Unselfish Play & Fancy Passing Vs Jazz

He’s too tall and built for Penny Hardaway. He’s just not deserving of a Magic Johnson comparison yet. No to LeBron too. So I’ll go with Lamar Odom as the player #1 pick Ben Simmons was showing shades of during the 76ers’ summer league victory against the Jazz on Thursday.

Simmons finished with just 6 points on a not so great 2 of 8 from the field and 2 of 6 from the line. But he also had 7 boards, 6 assists, just 1 turnover, and Philly fans loving the sight of their 6’10 future star dribbling down the court, through defenders and making fancy no-look passes to teammates for easy buckets.

“I let the game come to me,” Simmons said. “Obviously, I threw a lot of assists. That’s what they were giving me, so I took it.

“Overall, every time I drove (against Utah), I was able to find somebody and I kept doing it.”

His unselfish play also had the Sixers’ coaching staff raving.

“It’s unbelievable,” Sixers guard Maodo Lo said. “He’s extremely gifted with his size, his body and the things he’s able to do on a court. His facilitating is extremely impressive. Playing with him is great because he finds you and you know you get open looks with him. It’s really fun to play with him.”

And if you are only familiar with the Lamar Odom on TMZ reports and reality tv shows, here’s a few clips showing how talented Odom was.
