On draft night, we put out a post called “The NBA Champs Didn’t Have A Draft Pick & Still Ended Up With A Draft Steal, Thanks Chicago!”
That draft steal was Bulls’ 2nd round pick Jordan Bell, the 6’9″, 22-year old Pac-12 Defensive Player Of The Year from Oregon and a favorite of ours since his high school days of racking up triple-doubles with blocks — we witnessed him block 18 shots in one game and 23 in another! The Bulls gave him to the Warriors for $3.5 million and I said, “they just gave that man a championship.”
On Friday, the Warriors gave Bell his first start of the season and of course it was against the Bulls. And of course Bell reminded the Bulls fans he was given away for cash when he did a money gesture during the starting lineup announcements.
“I wanted to see how cash considerations was playing over there” Said Bell after putting up 7 points (3-of-4 from the field), 6 rebounds, 6 blocks, 4 assists and 2 steals in just 26 minutes during the Warriors 143-94 beatdown on the Bulls.
Here’s my favorite Bell moments from the payback game, starting with the money gesture.

THE OOP FROM ZAZA
He made me not hate Zaza Pachulia for a few seconds by throwing down this oop and causing the Warriors bench to erupt.
NO LOVE FOR VALENTINE

3.5 MONEY GESTURE
After a bucket and a foul, Bell does the money gesture again and yells 3.5.
