What a difference one game makes. The Detroit Lions put on a show on Monday Night Football, thumping the Baltimore Ravens, 38-30.
The game wasn't really that close, as Detroit separated from the Ravens in the second half through the force of its' lines, both offensive and defensive.
As Grant Afseth predicted in his preview of the Lions/Ravens MNF matchup, this game lived up top the hype.
As a result of an impressive win over the Ravens on the road, odds for the Lions to win the next Super Bowl have shortened to +1000, according to DraftKings. Prior to the Week 3 win against a Super Bowl-worthy AFC team, Detroit was priced at +1400 to win the Super Bowl.
Baltimore remains among favorites to win the Super Bowl, despite the loss and a 1-2 record: DraftKings lists the Ravens at +660, and FanDuel has them at +550. Last year, Baltimore also started 1-2, but won 12 games behind star quarterback Lamar Jackson and grabbed another win in the playoffs.
Detroit is showing no signs of missing its two coordinators, both of whom accepted head coaching jobs. The Detroit defense harangued Jackson on MNF, recording seven sacks. The defensive line routinely manhandled the troubled O-line of Baltimore.
It was a night of bully ball: the Lions' offensive line created huge holes that permitted David Montgomery to run for 151 yards, including a 72-yard run, the longest in the NFL this season. The Lions averaged nearly 6 yards per carry.
The reports of the demise of the Detroit O-line were clearly exaggerated. Even following the sudden retirement of center Frank Ragnow prior to the season, Detroit's front is showing they can push around the enemy.

Detroit went 3-for-3 on fourth down conversions. It showed once again that under gritty head coach Dan Campbell, this team is fearless.
Quarterback Jared Goff sparkled for the Lions, going 2-for-2 on fourth down, with one touchdown. He is completing nearly 80 percent of his passes and has a 120.1 Passer Rating through three games. In his fifth season playing for Detroit, Goff has posted the second-best Passer Rating and the most yards through the air of any QB in the NFL during that span.
In the Campbell Era, Detroit is now 12-2 in primetime games, whether it be playoffs, MNF, Thursday Night games, or holiday games. When the light shine bright, Campbell has his team prepared.
Fans who believe Detroit is a legit Super Bowl champion contender can still grab +1000 odds from DraftKings.
A few hours after the MNF win, FanDuel had Detroit at +1200. That means a winning $100 bet would be worth either $1,000 or $1,200 if you can find the +1200 odds.
Next week the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins will meet in Monday Night Football.
