Best app for NBA Betting

While online sportsbooks may have a standard website that you can play, bettors are always on the go, whether it’s for work or other errands. That’s where the need to find the best NBA sports betting apps comes in.

Depending on your state, there may be multiple NBA betting apps to choose from. While the desktop sites may be OK, this doesn’t always mean the mobile apps are up to snuff.

In the context of NBA betting apps, when we say “up to snuff,” it could mean things like the user interface design is poor, there’s lag going from page to page, or something of this sort that makes the experience lesser than the desktop site.

You’ll also want to look for things that you would when evaluating the desktop site for NBA betting apps, such as promotions/bonuses, betting markets, customer support, banking methods, and more.

Below, we have three NBA gambling apps you should check out.

PointsBet sportsbook app - Best Unique Betting Type Amongst All Basketball Betting App Platforms

What NBA markets to bet on with the PointsBet app?

As mentioned in the header above, one of the best ways to wager at PointsBet is PointsBetting, a method exclusive to PointsBet. Using NBA totals as an example, you’ll receive your wager multiplied by the number of points you were correct. For instance, if the total was 200 points, you bet $10 on the over, and the final score was a combined 210 points, you’d win $100.

In addition to PointsBetting, you’ll have the moneyline, point spread, totals, NBA props, NBA live betting, parlays, same game parlays, and you can also use the “Name A Bet” feature to pitch a betting idea to PointsBet directly.

PointsBet Promo NBA offers for the app

The only offer available at PointsBet Sportsbook is it's 5x $100 free bets welcome bonus. With this offer, you’ll receive a $100 free bet for five consecutive days after you’ve created your account. You’ll need to use each of these free bets each day to ensure you don’t lose them. Considering there are NBA games on almost a daily basis, it will be easy to use these free bets on their NBA sports betting app. This will also be useful if you use it as a sports betting app for the NBA finals since most series run up to seven games.

UX experience NBA in PointsBet app

When you open the PointsBet NBA gambling app, you’ll find that there aren’t any menus at the top but rather found at the bottom. Here, you’ll find links to a collapsible menu on the left side with various links to all sports, customer support, live streaming, and more. There are also links to the list of sports, live betting, the online casino (in legal states), Quick Parlay, and your betslip.

When you open the NBA betting app page, you’ll see the game listed with the lines and NBA odds for the moneyline, point spread, and total. You can click on each game to find even more betting markets, including PointsBetting.

Pointsbet Pro Contra US
PointsBet sportsbook app NBA: Pros vs Cons
  • The 5x $100 free bets are great for a daily sport like PointsBet
  • PointsBetting is a bet type that feels almost made for NBA betting due to the high number of points
  • Name A Bet allows players to create their betting markets, assuming PointsBet agrees
  • Fewer single-player prop bets are available than competitors

WynnBET sportsbook app - Easiest NBA Gambling App To Use For New Players

What NBA markets to bet on with the Wynnette app

At WynnBET, you can bet on the moneyline, point spread, totals, parlays, live betting, Same Game Parlays, futures, and props. However, the single-player prop market looks slim, so you may have mostly game props. An example of a game prop would be bettering on the winner of the game during regulation, meaning you’d have three wagers—one for each team and a draw.

WynnBET Promo NBA offers for app

At WynnBET Sportsbook, new players will receive a $100 bonus bet when they wager $100 on an NBA game. This is known as a “bet & get” offer.

Beyond the welcome bonus, there are some NBA-specific offers available, including the following:

  • $50 Bonus Bet: When you wager $25 or more on a 3+ leg parlay on Thursdays and win, you’ll get a $50 free bet.

A multi-sport parlay promotion is available where you’ll receive a $10 bonus bet on a 4+ leg parlay with a $50 or more wager.

UX experience NBA in WynnBET app

Starting at the top of this NBA sports betting app, WynnBET has a search bar with a menu right below it for the available sports to wager on. Directly below this, you’ll find a link to the live betting page, a menu for the available promotions, and in the middle of the app, a section for popular sports and games coming up soon.

Along the bottom of the app are links to log into your account or create one and a menu with links to the homepage, search bar, live betting page, and promotions.

UX experience NBA in Fanduel app

  • Menu promoting the available promotions.

More than half of the United States has legal online sports betting in some capacity. As a result, there are numerous sites to play at for you to choose from, and some may not even be available where you reside.

Below is a list of all of the states where online sports betting is legal.

  • Arizona
  • Arkansas
  • Colorado
  • Connecticut
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Iowa
  • Kansas
  • Louisiana
  • Maine (pending)
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • Michigan
  • Nevada
  • New Hampshire
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Ohio
  • Oregon
  • Pennsylvania
  • Rhode Island
  • Tennessee
  • Virginia
  • Washington D.C.
  • West Virginia
  • Wyoming

While legal and regulated sports betting is the best way to go as opposed to offshore sites, it does have one particular “con.”

Say you’re a New Jersey resident but traveling for work, and you’re in California. While sports betting is legal in New Jersey and you’re a resident, you’ll be unable to bet since it’s not legal in California.

Conversely, if you’re a resident of California traveling to New Jersey, you could wager, so it works both ways.

Remember that residence status doesn’t matter for online sports betting. What matters is where you’re located at the time at which you want to wager.

Types of NBA bets

Bet Type NBA Example
Moneyline The Boston Celtics are -340 and are hosting the Indiana Pacers, who are +280. The “-” indicates the favored team, whereas the “+” is for the underdog. At -340, you’d need to wager $340 to win $100. However, if you wagered $100 on the Pacers and they won, you’d win $280.
Point Spread The point spread is a number meant to illustrate the gap in power between two teams and make them as even as possible. Using the Celtics and Pacers example above, if they were -8, they’d need to win the game outright and by more than 8 to cover. The Pacers would then be +8 and need to either win outright or lose by no more than seven points to cover or eight points to “push.” The odds for point spreads are always at or around -110.
Totals This is where you wager on the combined number of points in a game. The Celtics and Pacers have a line of 202.5. You can either bet that the total will go over or under that. Like the point spread, the betting odds are always at or around -110.
Props Props appear in three ways in NBA betting: Game, Team, and Player. The most popular of the three is player props.

With player props, you’d wager on the statistical performance of a player such as Jaylen Brown. You could wager on the number of points he’d score. For example, if his line is 19.5, you could wager that he’ll finish with more or less than that.

Live Betting With live betting, you’re wagering on the game as it’s live and progressing. So, if the Celtics are -340 on the moneyline before the game but are losing by 10 at halftime, they could become the underdog instead of the favorite.
Parlay A parlay is taking multiple events and wagering them together. The benefits of doing so are increased odds, but there’s increased risk as all “legs” on a parlay must win in order for you to receive a payout.

So, you could wager on the Celtics -340, Nuggets +110, and Grizzlies +145. Together, the odds would be +565, but all teams would need to win in this moneyline parlay in order for you to get your money.

This is the same concept as a parlay, only instead, you’re focusing on one game. This could be the total, moneyline, and a player prop.

Same Game Parlay This is the same concept as a parlay; only instead, you’re focusing on one game. This could be the total, moneyline, and a player prop.
Micro Bets Micro bets are done during live betting and are events that will happen in the short term, such as the result of the next basket, the result of the next possession, etc.

Betting on NBA Finals

Finding the best sports betting app for the NBA Finals is important because this is the final series or could be the final game of the NBA season. During the NBA Finals, all of the same wagers will be available. The only difference is the seven games series, which could change how you analyze each game. NBA Sportsbooks may also make point spreads a bit closer as these teams will play each other at least four times.

This is also a great time to look around for bonuses and promotions, as some NBA betting apps may have offers exclusive to the finals for you to take advantage of.

How to start gambling at NBA betting apps

  • Check out our reviews to find the best NBA betting app for you.
  • Confirm that it has a welcome bonus that you can use.
  • Go to the Apple App or Google Play Store and search for the app.
  • Download the app.
  • Open the app and begin to register for an account.
  • Complete the registration process. You’ll need to provide personal information such as your name, date of birth, address, and more.
  • Complete all requirements to redeem the welcome bonus.
  • Go back to the homepage and head to the deposit page.
  • Pick which method to deposit with and complete the process on the same page.
  • Head to the NBA section of the betting app.
  • Find which wager you want to make.
  • Input the amount of money you want to wager on the betslip and confirm your wager.

What should you look for in NBA Betting Apps

User Interface Design

Navigating an NBA betting app is key to ensuring a long-term enjoyable relationship with that site. If it’s difficult to find the NBA page or there’s too much lag that could interfere with live betting, you may want to look elsewhere.

Welcome Bonus

All players are different, so each welcome bonus could be beneficial to you or not. Always investigate the welcome bonuses to see if it’s something you can take advantage of.

Existing Player Promotions

In addition to the welcome bonus, review the promotions page to see if there are any promotions available that you can utilize after the welcome bonus.

Customer Support

Check to see what customer service is available. The most common methods are an FAQ page, live chat, phone, and email. The more, the merrier.

Banking Methods

Like customer support, the more, the merrier. See what methods you can use to deposit funds, but also check which withdrawal methods are available and the timeline for them.

Unique Features

Like PointsBetting with PointsBet, is there anything that sticks out that’s not like anything else? Some common features you’ll find at sportsbooks nowadays are live betting, Same Game Parlay, and Cash Out.

Rewards Program

Some are better than others, but is there a rewards program that you can enroll in to reap some benefits for your wagers? Below we’ll provide a screenshot of BetRivers’ iRush Rewards and the types of perks you can receive in addition to site credit.

Betting Markets

Most NBA betting apps will have the standard wagers, but when reviewing apps, we always look for the single-player prop betting market availability.

NBA Betting app offers

No Sweat NBA Bets

No sweat bets are becoming a common welcome bonus at all of the best NBA betting apps. With a no sweat first bet, you can make a wager while knowing that, if you lose, you’ll receive it back as either site credit or a fbonus bet. There could be some parameters around minimum odds and the amount of money you can wager up to, but this enables you to take a riskier bet than normal. If you win your wager, you keep your winnings like any other bet.

No deposit bonus

A no deposit bonus is a site credit for creating an account. This is typically never more than $10-$25, but it’s something you can use to make a bet immediately. These will have wagering requirements, which are something you need to meet before withdrawing any site credits/bonus funds. For this offer, it’s typically just 1x.

First deposit bonus match

A first deposit match is where you receive a percentage match on the money you deposit. There will be a cap on this. Like a no deposit bonus, the deposit bonus will come with wagering requirements you must complete in order to withdraw the bonus funds you received from the deposit match as cash.

These offers were more popular when online sports betting first launched, but risk-free, no sweat bets, bonus bets, and free bets are becoming the norm.
