The 2026 NBA Draft Lottery odds are set, and the Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers, and Brooklyn Nets are tied with a 14% chance to win the No. 1 overall pick. Let's take a look at the lottery chances for several teams, along with the No. 1 overall pick betting odds.

It's been the year of tanking for several teams, and there were six ties among teams with the same regular-season records. Ahead of the NBA Draft on May 10, random drawings were completed on Monday to pinpoint the draft order. The drawing was completed to solidify the first four picks in the upcoming NBA draft.
In this article, I will discuss the probabilities of which teams could land the No. 1 overall pick. In 2025, the Dallas Mavericks notably held just a 1.8% chance to secure the top spot and ended up winning it. It resulted in drafting former Duke star Cooper Flagg in the 2025 NBA Draft.
The results are fairly close, given that it's the first time in NBA history that eight teams finished the regular season with 55+ losses. Those teams include the Wizards, Pacers, Brooklyn Nets, Utah Jazz, Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks, and New Orleans Pelicans.
As mentioned previously, there's a three-way tie, as the Wizards, Pacers, and Nets all hold a 14% chance to earn the No. 1 pick. They are followed by the Kings (11.5%) and the Jazz (11.5%). Household names such as AJ Dybantsa and Darryn Peterson are the consensus top-two picks in the 2026 NBA Draft. Other notable names include Cameron Boozer, Caleb Wilson, Darius Acuff Jr., Nate Ament, and Koa Peat. This is a deep, talented draft class.

Two notable results included the Jazz (22-60) winning the tiebreaker over the Sacramento Kings (22-60) for the No. 4 spot in the lottery. Additionally, the New Orleans Pelicans (25-56) won a tiebreaker with the Dallas Mavericks (26-56), resulting in the No. 7 spot. The Hawks will hold the No. 7 pick as a result of the Dejounte Murray trade in 2024. It's important to note that Atlanta will secure the more favored pick from the Pelicans and Milwaukee Bucks (31-51).
It's a favorable position for the Hawks, who stunned the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Monday night, to tie the first-round playoff series, 1-1.
In fact, the Bucks landed the No. 10 slot, at a 4.5% chance to draft No. 1.
Other tiebreakers include the Phoenix Suns (45-37) over the Orlando Magic (45-37) and the Philadelphia 76ers (45-37). Furthermore, the Toronto Raptors (46-36) won a tiebreaker over the Hawks for the No. 19 spot, the Houston Rockets (52-30) over the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Knicks (52-29) over the Los Angeles Lakers.

Only three teams over .500 hold top-14 spots: the Los Angeles Clippers (to the OKC Thunder), Miami Heat, and Charlotte Hornets.
Washington closed out the 2025–2026 season 0-10 down the stretch, while the Pacers finished 2-8 in the final 10 games. Both teams had a disastrous season: Tyrese Haliburton missed the entire season following an Achilles injury, and also suffered crucial injuries to T.J. McConnell, Andrew Nembhard, and more. Even losing 13 games in a row, there's hope for the Pacers. Indiana traded a first-round pick for big man Ivica Zubac, who will join a healthy Haliburton and Pascal Siakam.
The Wizards have been historically terrible for quite some time and have struggled post John Wall and Bradley Beal era. Having won just 17 games this season, Washington shook up its roster with several blockbuster moves. Acquiring both Trae Young and Anthony Davis, only Young suited up for 5 games. Washington has a young core in Alex Sarr, Tre Johnson, Kyshawn George, and Bilal Coulibaly. Perhaps the No. 1 pick would solidify this roster.
The Brooklyn Nets have struggled to find their footing post-Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, and even post-D'Angelo Russell era. This team has a cumulative 78-168 record since the 2023–24 season, and the team just extended head coach Jordi Fernandez and the coaching staff to multi-year contracts. The team shipped away Cam Johnson and Cam Thomas and brought in Michael Porter Jr. This team has a solid young core in Egor Demin, Nic Claxton, Noah Clowney, Ben Saraf, and Ziare Williams. They finished 3-7 down the stretch, suffered significant injuries, and the offense was a crucial issue all season long.
Perhaps one of the most intriguing teams under fire this season was the Utah Jazz. Holding a 22-60 record, they went 1-9 down the stretch and were fined $500,000 for benching healthy stars such as Jaren Jackson Jr. and Lauri Markkanen. It was a bizarre season, as the Jazz called up several players from the G-League, which defined the tanking era. Whether it's a violation of the league's integrity or not, the Jazz decided to build around Markkanen.
The 2026 Draft has some top prospects, and the Jazz could end the tank with a generational pick. They even drafted Ace Bailey last season, and held a roster that included Keyonte George, Markkanen, Walker Kessler, and traded for Jackson Jr. Perhaps the Jazz will make a leap with a top pick next year.
