2026 NBA Finals Knicks vs. Spurs Game 3: Karl-Anthony Towns, Jalen Brunson & Stephon Castle Prop Bets (June 8)

Publish Date: Jun 08, 2026
Fact checked by: Sara Jane Gamelli
Key Points
  • The New York Knicks have won 13 straight playoff games, including their last five inside Madison Square Garden.
  • Karl-Anthony Towns has played the perfect complementary role to Jalen Brunson, while showing no signs of intimidation against Victor Wembanyama.
  • Stephon Castle is averaging 18.8 points per game during the postseason, but will now play a playoff game for the first time in Madison Square Garden.

The New York Knicks have won 13 straight playoff games, including five at Madison Square Garden. After sweeping the 76ers in Philadelphia and the Cavaliers in Cleveland, there's no doubt they'll be out to suffocate the young San Antonio Spurs during their time in Manhattan.

The Spurs had ample opportunities in both Games 1 and 2, and they could very easily make the argument this series should be 2-0 their way But it's not, and that's the point. The pressure is on them in a must-win Game 3.

Forget Hollywood's finest on hand for a Lakers game, or Las Vegas' biggest celebrities on hand to support the WNBA's Aces, the place to be on Monday night will be Madison Square Garden. From Spike Lee to Ben Stiller to Fat Joe, things are exciting at 4 Pennsylvania Plaza. Toss in comedian Tracy Morgan and actor Timothée Chalamet, there's a lot to be excited about.

The Knicks return home with a 2-0 series lead after taking the first two games of the NBA Finals in San Antonio, leaving the bewildered Spurs wondering how to approach the desperate situation. After all, the Knicks rank No. 1 during the playoffs with 118.1 points per game, and No. 1 in allowing just 100.2 ppg.

Sure, Victor Wembanyama just missed a shot at the end of Game 2 that would have beaten the Knicks - but he didn't. That's the point. The Knicks have been and continue to find ways to win. Now it's the Spurs turn to do the same, if they can.

Karl-Anthony Towns Alternate Points Over 18.5 (+104)

Prior to the NBA Finals, much of the brouhaha was about Jalen Brunson, and deservedly so. But let's not pretend that Karl-Anthony Towns hasn't been an integral part of this team's run to a 2-0 series lead at this point. He's averaging 17.3 points per game in the playoffs, but he's scored 18 and 21 points in the first two games, respectively.

Now, follow me here. Towns and the Knicks have returned from a road playoff game just one time this postseason, for Game 5 against Atlanta in the opening round. They completed their subsequent sweeps in both Philadelphia and Cleveland. But in 17 home games that followed a road trip — be it one or more away from Gotham — Towns averaged 19.2 points in that first game back. And in 31 career games against the Spurs, he's averaging 21.9 points per contest.

Jalen Brunson 1st Quarter Over 7.5 points (-125)

Brunson is on a mission, and it's never been any clearer. With two road wins and a chance to complete a third straight playoff sweep to win the NBA title, this kid is salivating to have Games 3 and 4 in the mecca. The Knicks finished their sweeps of the 76ers and Cavaliers on the road, so a sweep for the home crowd would make things that much sweeter.

That said, I expect Brunson to come out swinging, looking like a middleweight with vengeance on the brain, like a prime Thomas "Hit Man" Hearns from the 80s. Among all players with at least two appearances this postseason, Brunson ranks No. 1 with an average of 8.7 points in the first quarter, behind 47.5 percent shooting.

Stephon Castle Under 16.5 points (-130)

I think Castle is going to be one of the best two-way guards of this next era. I like to think of him as a Jimmy Butler 2.0. But right now, the second-year guard seems rattled at times, and I don't know if I can trust him in this environment.

He's averaged just 11.5 points against the Knicks in four regular-season appearances, and the first two games of this series, he's scoring 15.5 on 40 percent shooting. Now you're dumping in the middle of the GOAT of arenas for an NBA Finals game, against a team that will be sure to turn up the defensive heat? Castle will have more things to worry about — like avoiding costly mistakes — than scoring more than he's accustomed to against the Knicks.
