We're approaching the halfway point of the NBA playoffs. By the end of this coming weekend, at the least, we'll have two rounds of playoffs in the books. Two to go.
The most exciting rounds are yet to come: the conference finals and the NBA Finals. It's the NBA's version of the "Final Four," if you will.
Two teams have advanced to the conference finals round: the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder, and the New York Knicks.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, Detroit Pistons, Minnesota Timberwolves, and San Antonio Spurs are still battling to advance. Two Game 6s are on the schedule for Friday: Detroit at Cleveland and Minnesota at San Antonio. We'll have our previews, odds, and game picks tomorrow as part of Ballislife Bets' basketball betting picks.
Here are five so-called "exotic bets" on the NBA Playoffs moving forward. None of these is directly related to the outcome of a single game moneyline, or spread. But first the current odds to win the NBA Finals.

Are we seeing history? Could the Thunder set a record for postseason winning?
In the history of the NBA Playoffs, since the advent of the four-round format, nine teams have won a title and lost two games or less. The record is 16-1 by the 2017 Golden State Warriors, who are the only NBA team to lose just one game in the playoffs and capture the title.
The OKC thunder are 8-0 after two rounds. They have a chance to roll through the next two rounds and establish themselves as one of the greatest teams in NBA history.
The basketball experts at FanDuel Sportsbook price the Thunder at +2000 to go a perfect 16-0. The odds for OKC to sweep the Western Conference Finals are +500.
How's this for a slap in the chops? The No. 1 seed Detroit Pistons are priced at +800 to win the Eastern Conference from FanDuel. That's the longest odds of the three remaining teams.
Detroit is staring at a 3-2 deficit following a gut-punch loss in Game 5 on Wednesday to Cleveland. But the Pistons have already shown their moxie: the team won three elimination games to get out of the first round.
The last time an NBA team won as many as five elimination games in the playoffs was in 2023 by the Boston Celtics. Those Celtics actually lost Game 7 of the ECF to Miami. A fate Detroit does not want to repeat.
With Cade Cunningham, the Pistons have an elite scorer. But in the postseason, he's been sloppy with the ball, and when Detroit turns it over more than its opponents, it loses.
Odds from FanDuel show a winning $100 bet will return $800 if the Pistons win this series against the Cavaliers AND eliminate the Knicks in the Eastern Conference finals. That's a long way off, but may be worth a small bet.
Here's a fun betting market that pops up this time of year: predict the exact outcome of the NBA Finals by winner and loser. Here are odds from the betting experts at bet365:
Or go with one of these outcomes, somewhere in-between:
There is something for everyone, no matter which team is your favorite, or the team you think will hoist the trophy. The NBA Finals start June 3 in the city of the team with the best regular season record.
