You can't spell "victory" without Victor. As in San Antonio Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama. Tonight, Wemby seeks to lead his team to a commanding 3-1 lead in its series against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Thus far in this series, the Spurs have appeared to be superior, thanks to better offensive weapons, and the amazing shot blocking ability of Wembanyama, who set a playoff record with 12(!) blocks in Game 2.

Almost every game he plays, Wembanyama is etching his name in history. First there was the record-setting shot block party he hosted in Game 2. Then in Game 3, Wemby became only the fourth player in NBA Playoff history to record 35+ points, 15+ rebounds, and 5+ blocks. The others were Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Hakeem Olajuwon, and Shaquille O'Neal. That's a Mt. Rushmore of legendary NBA big men.
And Wembanyama did that in only his eighth career playoff game. You can see why they call him "The Alien." Is he of this world? Can't be, right? But this time, I want to make my wager on Wemby as simple as I can.
Here's my Wemby player prop for Game 4: points. Simply points.
The line bakers are going to put out something in the neighborhood of 27.5 points for Wembanyama in Game 4, and fading him right now would be a genuinely strange thing to do. In Game 3 he went for 39 points on 72.2% from the field, while posting a true shooting percentage of 83.8%. That's not a type, hoops fans.
Minnesota has been unable to throw a single credible answer at him: Rudy Gobert has shot well from the field in this series, but that may be draining his resources for playing defense on Wemby. Rudy is being schooled by a 20-year-old who moves like a skyscraper that can bend like a yoga master and dribble like Curly Neal.
Take Wemby at 30+ points; across three games he's averaged 23 points and 15 boards, but he's really found the touch from long range, and he can camp down low when needed and get effortless tip-ins.
San Antonio has averaged 124 points in the last two games of this series. The floor has opened up for the Spurs on the offensive side, as the Timberwolves are over-pursuing to get out on 3-point threats like Julian Champagne and Devin Vassell. But it's Wemby who has taken 20 3-pointers. His long-range shot cannot be defended.
I expect the game to be wild in the second half when the TWolves defense normally gets more tired and lax. San Antonio has outscored Minnesota in five of the six second-half quarters. Of their 38 made 3s in this series, 24 have come in the second half.
Odds for this three-legger are +218, which falls right in line with where I want to be for a parlay in this series. Anything more ambitious and I feel like it's not worth the play. Odds can be found on these markets in the game details under San Antonio vs. Minnesota in the DraftKings app.
The Spurs have too many options on offense for Minnesota. Stephen Castle has been an unsung star: 21-of-25 shots made from the free-throw line. He's been schooling the Timberwolves in getting them to fall for his pump fakes. Castle is fearless at attacking the basket.
