A new college basketball national champion will be crowned tonight, either the Michigan Wolverines or the UConn Huskies. According to the odds at FanDuel, Michigan (-310) has a 75.61% chance of winning, and UConn (+250) has a 28.57% chance.

Braylon Mullins has been all over the internet and social media because of the 35-foot 3-pointer that he hit against Duke in the Elite 8. It should be, since that shot sent the Huskies to the Final Four. But what you don’t hear about is how he scored just 10 points and was 1-5 from 3-point range. Yes, he has made some memorable shots and big plays. However, Mullins has scored more than this point total in just three of the five games in Tournament play. He averaged 12 points per game this season.
In the nine-game (regular and postseason), where he faced a defense ranked inside KenPom’s top 20 in defensive efficiency, he recorded over 11.5 points in two. He had 15 vs. Illinois in the Final Four and 17 vs. Kansas on Dec. 2. Michigan has the most efficient defense in the country, deadly in the frontcourt, and just as tough on the perimeter.
Michigan should be able to limit a player who shoots 29% from 3-point range and 40.7% from the floor from sinking too many baskets tonight.

Yaxel Lendeborg averaged 15.1 points per game this season. He has stepped up his game in the Tournament, though, averaging 19 points and scoring 20+ in three of them, which makes it somewhat surprising that his point total is so low. It must be because he injured his knee and ankle against Illinois.
He returned to the game against Arizona after going down, wearing a sleeve over his injured knee, but his maneuverability was clearly limited. He later shared with the media that he suffered an MCL sprain and sprained his ankle.
While Lendeborg tells anyone who will listen that he is going to play, if he doesn’t respond to treatment, Michigan could lose an important piece of the puzzle. However, even if he is limited and ends up becoming a corner 3-point shooter for the game, there is a good chance he still covers.
Michigan's star made two of his three 3-pointers against Arizona after returning in the second half. UConn has a tough defense and has been stingy with opposing 3-point shooters. But the same is true for Arizona, and he went 3-3 against the Wildcats.
There is a risk due to the injuries. However, at +100, this market may be the best value play of the day.
Michigan’s defense has been the talk of the town in March. It is, after all, the most efficient one in the nation, according to KenPom. But the Wolverines also rank fourth in offensive efficiency. Its excellence has been readily apparent, as Michigan has been scoring up to 90+ points per game in Tournament play.
Of course, with so many points being scored, there have been plenty of opportunities for assists, which Elliot Cadeau has dished out well. He averaged 5.9 per game during the regular season. Since the Tournament got underway, he has recorded 7+ per game (9, 7, 7, 10, and 10).
With an average of 8.6 per game, he has the second-highest individual total in the Tournament.
Teams averaged 10.8 assists per game against UConn this season. However, that number increased to 12.2 per game in Tournament play. But as the driver of an offense that has averaged an unprecedented 90+ points a game in the Tournament, he’ll know how to find the right opportunities.
