Times have been tough for the New York Giants, but offensive standouts Jaxson Dart, Cam Skattebo, and Malik Nabers have fans excited. If the Giants nail their selections with the No. 5 and No. 10 picks in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, they could generate serious buzz come September. But who will they pick?
According to the latest NFL Draft odds at FanDuel, the Giants will probably give their defense a boost. After ranking No. 26 in points allowed and No. 28 in yards allowed, that would not be shocking. Let’s discuss the NFL Draft odds for the Giants first round selections and who they might pick.

The following are the latest odds for the players listed at the top of the FanDuel betting board for the No. 5 overall pick in the Draft:
The Giants need help at several positions, so it is hard for them to go wrong. But if they were to pick based on need, they would likely go for a wide receiver, guard, defensive tackle, or cornerback. But teams do not always address needs first. Sometimes, teams will go for the best player available.
But in the Giants' case, the best player available will likely be an upgrade over who they currently have slated to start, so they can’t lose.
However, when it comes to betting on NFL draft odds, the trick is not in figuring out what a team needs. It’s getting into the decision-makers' heads and figuring out what they are most likely to do.
If the Giants go for best available at No. 5, they’ll take Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles. However, according to the NFL Mock Draft Database, only 37% of mock drafts tracked (1259 first-round mock drafts) have him going at No. 5.

The following are the latest odds for the players listed at the top of the FanDuel betting board for the No. 10 overall pick of the Draft:
The further along you get in the first round, the less consensus there is about the best overall player available. So, with this pick, it may be more about who the Giants believe can become a more impactful playmaker right away. That could mean the Giants give their offense some more firepower. Jordyn Tyson or Carnell Tate would give Dart a solid WR2 to line up with Nabers.
But it could also mean taking Francis Mauigoa, Olaivavega Ioane, or Spencer Fano. If Dart and Skattebo miss time due to injuries again, the season will go downhill fast. At the same time, New York could go for another playmaker on defense, like Caleb Downs or Mansoor Delane. Improving one of the league's worst defenses would not be a bad idea.
In the past, when teams built through the draft it might have been a little easier to predict who they would pick. But nowadays, coaches and front offices often do not have the time to turn a team around. New head coach John Harbaugh will get some grace, as this is his first draft with the Giants. His success in Baltimore will probably also buy him some time.
But he still needs to hit with both picks since his new team is deficient in so many areas.
Harbaugh is known as a defensive coach, so Sonny Styles (+185) is a safe bet to give his defense a much-needed playmaker. If Styles is gone, he will probably select the next-best edge rusher, linebacker, or defensive back available. The Giants could certainly use all three.
As for the No. 10 pick, I doubt New York will go with a receiver since it wasn't a focus during Harbaugh's time with the Ravens, despite the need. I wouldn’t be shocked if he targets defense again and takes Caleb Downs (+300) or Mansoor Delane (+1100). But I’d rather see him go with an offensive lineman with this pick (Francis Mauigoa +700, Olaivavega Ioane +800, or Spencer Fano +1300). He needs Dart to remain healthy and on the field, which means he needs better protection.
