2026 WNBA All-Star 3-Point Contest: Best Bets, Odds & Predictions

2026 WNBA All-Star Weekend has arrived in Chicago. The Stud Budz have been entertaining fans with a current 72-hour live stream on Twitch. However, the basketball festivities start tonight. Let's break down the contestants, odds, and my best predictions who will win the competition tonight.

The WNBA ditched the skills challenge, and tonight's festivities will also feature the Shooting Stars competition. For the 3-Point Contest, there's more than just a trophy on the line: For the first time in WNBA history, payouts will be split among the first-, second-, and third-place contestants. Aflac is planning to supplement more than $170,000 in payouts.

That means the first-place winner will receive $40,000, while the second- and third-place finishers will get $30,000 and $15,000. This is a significant increase from year's past, meaning this year will be ultra competitive.

This year's 3-Point Contest will include six participants: Bridget Carleton (Portland Fire), Azzi Fudd (Dallas Wings), Rhyne Howard (Atlanta Dream), Marina Mabrey (Toronto Tempo), Natisha Heideman (Seattle Storm), and Janelle Salaün (Golden State Valkyries).

This year's event will feature two rounds that include the standard ball racks around the perimeter. In addition, WNBA balls are worth one point and money balls will be worth two points. The contest will additionally include an "all money ball" rack and two logo shots.

You may be wondering who advances? The players with the two highest scores in the opening round will advance to the final round.

This year didn't come with drama, as Sabrina Ionescu, Kayla McBride, and Caitlin Clark are noticeably absent from this year's contest. Both Ionescu and McBride spoke on the event as Ionescu claimed she never received an invite, while McBride's was "half-assed" on Instagram.

Get ready, bettors, tonight should be entertaining and a great way to make some coin during WNBA All-Star Weekend. Sabrina Ionescu has dominated the competition, winning two of the last three 3-Point contests. Will Azzi Fudd become the first rookie to ever win it, or will someone else emerge? 2026 WNBA All-Star 3-Point Contest Best Bets & Predictions

The Favorite

Azzi Fudd, Dallas Wings +210

Drafted No. 1 overall by the Dallas Wings in the 2026 WNBA Draft, Fudd is the favorite to win the WNBA All-Star 3-Point Contest.

At +210 odds, Fudd will play in her first contest, one where no rookie has ever won.

Through 23 games, Fudd ranks No. 23 in 3-point percentage, shooting 37% from beyond the arc. In addition, the former UConn star ranks 10th in 3-point attempts this season (137).

Fudd has one of the quickest jump shots in the WNBA and excels with her feet set. Wings' GM Curt Miller raves about her "lightning-quick release," and she's shooting at a 44.3% 3-point rate.

Fudd's hot spots are the wings, no pun intended, where she shoots 44.2% from the left side. While she's yet to hit a shot ranging from 32-37 feet, Fudd is shooting 41.6% in the 27-32 foot range. In addition, she's shooting 66.7% from the left corner 3 and 37.8% from above-the-break 3.

The only spot where Fudd has struggled this season is the right corner 3, where she shoots just 25%. Perhaps the money ball rack shouldn't be placed there? She has just 10 3-point attempts from both corners this season. 127 of her 3-point attempts have from above the break.

Fudd enters the 3-Point contest on a tear, shooting 44% from three with 15 made threes over the last five games. In that span, Fudd averaged 13.8 points and 6.8 3-point attempts per game.

It's easy to see why Fudd is the favorite. She has the shot speed to beat any competitor and the accuracy to win. If she can get over first time jitters, she's a legitimate contender.

Sleeper

Janelle Salaün, Golden State Valkyries +450

My sleeper pick to win the WNBA 3-Point contest is Janelle Salaün of the Golden State Valkyries.

The Valkyries, now in their second WNBA season, are one of the hottest 3-point shooting teams in the league. We can thank Salaün for that.

Named WNBA All-Rookie Team in 2025, Salaün is 6-foot-2 but shoots like a guard. She's one of the elite sharpshooters in the league and is shooting a career-best 39.4% from beyond the arc. Just 24 years old, Salaün is in her second WNBA season.

In addition, Salaün is seventh in the WNBA, connecting on 2.5 of 6.3 3-point attempts per game. Mind you, that's pretty impressive for someone that logs just 22.4 minutes per game.

This may be Salaün's first 3-Point contest, but she's a true pro. A France native, she was a Ligue Féminine champion in 2024 and Lega Basketball Femminile champion in 2025. With that, she brings plenty of overseas experience to the WNBA.

Similar to Fudd, 150 3-point attempts for Salaün come from above-the-break 3, where she shoots 39 percent. The reason why she's a sleeper is that she can beam from anywhere on the court.

Salaün doesn't shoot from the corner often, compiling a total of 20 shots from the left (35.7%) and right corner three (50%). Her jump shot may be a tad slower, but she has a high arching shot. When she does shoot from the corner, it's hard to stop her.

Aside from Monday's loss against the Mystics, Salaün  has been on a heater. In July, she's putting up 13.8 points per game, connecting on 6.0 3-point attempts, while shooting at a 45.2% clip from downtown.

She's now shot 50% or higher from three in five of the last seven games.

I like Janelle Salaün as a sleeper pick here. She boasts the best 3-point percentage of all the contestants and she is one of the best flamethrowers in the WNBA. Where she thrives is the 25-29 foot range, where she shoots 38.5%. Don't be surprised at her logo shots, as Salaün is shooting 41% from 25-29 foot range this season.

My Prediction

Marina Mabrey, Toronto Tempo +300

I'm locking in Marina Mabrey, of the Tempo, to win the 2026 WNBA 3-Point contest.

The last time I saw Mabrey participate in 3-Point Contest was in 2024, when she was traded to the Connecticut Sun. This may be her first All-Star appearance, but she's not new to the 3-point scene.

Mabrey has a fast release and she's electric. She thrives under pressure, and that was evident when she erupted for 47 points during Unrivaled in Philly. This season, she tied A'ja Wilson and Liz Cambage for the most points in a single game with 53.

Now in her first season with the Tempo, Mabrey leads the WNBA in 3-pointers made with 82 on 209 attempts. Plus, she's shooting 39.2% from downtown, which is her best production since 2024.

I personally feel Mabrey is built for the moment and is one of the WNBA's best shot creators. 188 3-point attempts come from the above-the-break 3, where she's shooting 38.3%. While the right corner 3 numbers could improve (28.6%), Mabrey's been scorching hot from the left corner three (57.1%).

If anyone is going to hit those logo shots tonight, it's Mabrey. She's attempted 13 shots from the 30-34 foot range, shooting 23.1%. She's even shooting 1-of-4 from 35-39 range. To me, Mabrey has the most range than anyone in the competition.

• Mabrey finished with a score of 19 in the 2024 contest and failed to win. She enters tonight's contest averaging 7.1 3-pointers, 50 total threes, and shooting 36% from beyond the arc in July. Mabrey is built for this moment, and has the veteran experience to win it.
