We have picks for both the NBA and men’s college basketball for Wednesday. Defending champion Connecticut is at home hosting Georgetown. While UConn isn’t ranked, and isn’t expected by many to win a third straight title, the Huskies are still formidable.

On the NBA side, the Oklahoma City Thunder are in an odd position. The Thunder have an 8 ½ game lead as the top seed in the Western Conference.
But, at the same time, the respect that comes from being top dog doesn’t seem to have been lathered on OKC. The team is deep, athletic, and tenacious. But still a cloud of doubt hangs over their chances to hoist the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.
both the Huskies and Thunder are facing critics who think they don’t have what it takes to win a “chip.” That doesn’t matter to us on Wednesday, unless we think chalkboard motivation is a real thing.
On to the picks: only three tonight, hoops fans.
Our player Pick6 for NBA and NCAA Basketball games on Wednesday:
Gilgeous-Alexander has dropped 39 and 37 points in his most recent two games. That includes a sterling 11-for-20 field goal, and 14-for-17 free throw performance against the Timberwolves on Monday.
Since averaging 33.7 points in 12 games from January 19 to February 9, Maxey is averaging less than half that: 16.3, with a shooting percentage of 38.5 and a DND against the Nets.
The last word was a finger sprain for Maxey, and it seems that injury has led to erratic hoisting of the rock in recent games. That’s why we like LESS than 27.5 for the 76ers guard on Wednesday against the Knicks.
Earlier this season, the Huskies handled Georgetown in D.C. Now the two teams meet in Gampel Pavilion.
The Huskies (18-9) have relied heavily on McNeeley, a true freshman, to prove offense. Last time the marquee said Georgetown vs UConn, McNeeley was out of the lineup with a high ankle sprain.
This time, the outstanding freshman should have plenty of motivation to push the Huskies to a 19th win, one step closer to securing a March Madness spot.
How big should your pick selection be to have the best chance to win with DraftKings Pick6? Should you go big or small? 4-6 picks or 2-3 picks?
While it’s true that your potential winnings increase as you add more players to your pick, it also adds more opportunities to miss with a pick. Remember: you can only choose a maximum of six picks with Pick6. But you must choose at least two.
Because a solid 2-player pick is a much better decision than submitting a 6-player pick just so you increase your potential prize.
You may only have a chance at a 2X win with two picks, but if you feel strongly about those picks, that’s a smart strategy compared to building a big pick for 20X.
But we have a respectable six wins on Picks of three players or less. Last week we won 5.5X on a three-player pick of NBA players.
Keep in mind these factors when making your DraftKings Pick6 picks:
TV schedule for notable Tuesday night NBA games:
We don’t think Maxey is fully healthy yet, and he’s clearly having trouble scoring efficiently for the 76ers. We don’t see the “Boston Killer” having a big night against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Take LESS THAN 28.5 points.
