The Dallas Wings are searching for a win that's been hard to come by in recent games as they are currently on an eight-game winning streak. However, a matchup against a familiar foe like the Chicago Sky could help them get back on track when they head to Chicago in this Thursday matchup.
As for the Chicago Sky, they head back home after a two-game road stretch and losing four straight games. The Sky will play host to the lowly Dallas Wings in hopes of finally getting back into the win column on Thursday.
With that said, we take a look at this matchup to make a Dallas Wings-Chicago Sky prediction and pick.
Dallas Wings (3-10) have been on a dreadful run losing eight straight games only covering the spread in two of those eight games.
The bright spot of this Dallas Wings team is their star guard Arike Ogunbowale who's having a great start to the season averaging 24.9 ppg leading the charge for this offense.
She is getting some good work out of her supporting cast as well where the entire starting five is averaging double digits but it's been their bench that has been lacking depth.
It was the Ogunbowale show in their last showdown with the Sky where she scored 35 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 3 assists in that game.
However, she didn't get the help she needed from her supporting cast to get the job done.
It's going to come down to Ogunbowale doing what she does best and that is putting the team on her back and if she's able to do that with just a bit more help this time around the Wings can get back on track here in this road trip to Chicago.
Chicago Sky (4-9) are in the same boat as their opposition as they have been struggling mightily losing eight out of their last 10 games however they did have a win within the last two weeks, unlike the Dallas Wings.
This Chicago Sky squad has been playing like a collective unit through this season with all five of their starters scoring in double digits with Marina Mabrey leading the way with just 14.8 ppg.
In their most recent loss to the Indiana Fever, Mabrey led the team with 22 points and players like:
All assisted but ultimately wasn't enough to get it done against Caitlin Clark and the Fever.
The Sky must play as a collective unit like they have been but hanker down defensively and if they could do that like they did against the Wings in their last matchup they come away with the win and the cover of the spread as well in this Thursday matchup.
Both the Wings and Sky are struggling mightily coming into this matchup riding losing streaks on both sides as they will be looking to finally right the ship and get back into the win column on Thursday.
With that said, this should be another closely contested matchup between these two as it was their first two games and it all comes down to Arike Ogunbowale and if she's playing in this game.
As long as she suits up it's hard not to take the league's second-leading scorer to cover a 6-point spread against a struggling team like the Chicago Sky, so take the points as the Wings keep the game within reach in Thursday's showdown.
FINAL WINGS-SKY PICK & PREDICTION: DALLAS WINGS +6 (-110)
