A sliver: that’s all that separated us from a perfect betting night on Wednesday. But, the Warriors lost to the Rockets on a controversial official call that many hoops fans are still talking about.
But there’s no controversy about our other two picks: we came out with $200 in winnings on our NCAA and NBA picks earlier this week. Now, we select two more NBA games on Friday the 13th. Unlucky? No sir, this is a Friday like any other Friday, and one where your Fliff sports betting app will serve up plenty of odds for sporting events you care about.
Here's our upset pick of the week: the Lakers on the road to beat Minnesota as underdogs. The moneyline is +280 on LeBron & Co. to win outright in Minneapolis.
On opening night of the 2024-25 NBA season, the Lakers manhandled the Wolves, 110-103 in LA. Only 10 days ago, the Timberwolves exacted revenge with a 29-point victory. This time the Lakers will be better prepared (and better rested), and we like the purple and gold to grab a much-needed win as road dogs.
Minnesota has won four of its last five, after losing seven of nine prior to that. The T-Wolves are as uncertain as a photograph of the sun on the horizon: is it on its way up or on its way down? Who knows?
If you’d rather take the 8 points that Fliff oddsmakers are giving the Lakers, go ahead. But you’ll need to wager $105 to win $100.
Hey, schedule makers! Why not have one of the LA teams at home tonight? Says here that the Clippers will be a mile in the air in Denver facing the pesky Nuggets. LA (14-11) is a defensive juggernaut, one of the stingiest teams in the Association. The one glaring question is how Tyronn Lue can find the points from this inconsistent shooting group.
James Harden (that beared “superstar” in the Clippers' uniform) insists on tossing up three-pointers. Someone should ask him to stop. The Beard is shooting a dismal 33.8% from beyond the arc, which is third-worst in the league among players with at least 200 3-PT attempts. If Harden can’t score from long-range, he’s a bad, bad player. That’s because he has zero value on defense, as a rebounder, and as a passer. That’s why the Clippers are so hard to understand.
Give up the points and back the Nuggets at home to cover the spread. Your winning $115 bet with Fliff would win you $215, including your stake.
