Three NBA matchups tip off tonight, including a possible NBA Finals preview in The Forest City. It will be the Thunder facing the Cavaliers, as the top seeds in each conference meet in Cleveland.
Our Fliff picks last Sunday earned us $335, as we recorded wins for the Sunday Night NFL game and the Saints on the road. We look to keep our winning streak rolling by making three NBA picks for Wednesday.

Few games in January are must-see, but this one has all the makings of a possible NBA Finals battle. The Cavs are the Beasts of the East at 31-4, with the most balanced offensive attack and deepest roster in the league. This is the first of two games between OKC and Cleveland this month. We like the Thunder to keep winning: they’ve captured 15 consecutive victories, largely thanks to the best shut-down defense in the NBA.
Raise the flag and sound the trumpets. The Pistons are at .500 (18-18) at the latest point of the season since 2017. Their turnaround from last season’s nightmare under Monty Williams is inspirational. It seems like all the Detroit sports teams are on the rise, and the Pistons are wiggling their way into playoff contention. The Nets will be a tough challenge, but we suspect Det vs Bkn will produce more than 213 points on the OVER.
On Monday against Portland, Tim Hardaway’s kid scored a season-high 26 points on 10-of-15 from the field. He was 6-for-9 from beyond the three-point line. The former Michigan Wolverine is enjoying one of his best seasons. If he scored at least 15 points against the Nets on Wednesday, your $100 wager will win $240, including the stake.
Denver (20-14, and 4th in the Western Conference) is one of the NBA’s highest-scoring offenses. The three-headed monster of Nikola Jokić, Jamal Murray, and Michael Porter Jr. leads the Nuggets scoring attack. That trio, along with the NBA’s second-best three-point percentage (38.7%) will guide the home team to a win, rather handily in our view.
Find the alternative spread lines under any NBA game in the “game lines” section. We like Denver to win handily at home against the weary Clippers, who blew a late lead on the road at Minnesota. The Clippers have lost six of their last nine games away from home. The offense is playing a lot of “hero ball” with several players trying to do a bit too much.
Here’s the TV schedule for the three NBA games we previewed for Friday:
Our player prop bet for the Pistons/Nets is our choice as the best odds for Wednesday night NBA action. Take the over on Tim Hardaway Jr. of the Pistons, 14.5 points.
