The demise of the Golden State Warriors was greatly exaggerated. The Dubs are 8-2 and once again angling for a top position in the western conference of the NBA.
On Tuesday, Golden State hosts the Dallas Mavericks, the defending conference champions. Odds on the popular Fliff social betting app show the Warriors are favored. Our best NBA pick is actually another game, involving a team that probably won’t see playoff action this season.
Download Fliff, make your first betting prediction, and consider taking our Daily Best pick, on the moneyline. More on that below.
Today we have two NBA Fliff picks, and a bonus for you: a college hoops pick.
Last season the Detroit Pistons didn’t win their fourth game until January 15th. Yes, really. That dismal season resulted in only 14 wins, and cost their head coach his job.
But the 2024-25 Pistons are clearly a different team. The Pistons already have four wins, and in four of their seven losses, Detroit has been tied or within a bucket in the fourth quarter. The Pistons are doing what seemed impossible based on last season’s performance: competing.
On Tuesday, DET hosts the Miami Heat (4-5), losers of three of their last four. The Heat are in the middle of a six-game road trip. Coach Erik Spoelstra will need to guard against fatigue and weariness for his team in the Motor City.
The Heat are in the lower third of the league in defending the three, and rebounding. Offensively they lean heavily on the three-point shot (39.0%, sixth in the NBA). Spoelstra’s group gets very little from in the paint, and rank dead last in the league in two-point shooting percentage.
We love Detroit at home, at +100 to win on the moneyline. That means a winning $100 wager with Fliff wins you $100.
The Mavs are listed at +110 on the road against the Warriors. We would rather grab the 1.5 points and take Dallas on the spread at -105. We expect Dallas will find a way to win outright behind their relentless superstar Luka Dončić. But if Fliff wants to give us 1.5 points, we won't quibble.
It’s been a long time since MSU has gotten 6.5 points at home in a non-conference matchup. Head coach Tom Izzo is one of the best in the game, maybe THE best. He’ll have his Spartans (2-0) ready to compete with No. 1 ranked Kansas. Final score?
