The Los Angeles Dodgers and baseball's best record will be tested this weekend when they face the Texas Rangers, who have won four straight games.
According to Baseball Reference, the Dodgers have a 10% chance to win the World Series. Sportsbooks list the Dodgers at a little over 2-to-1, at +215 according to DraftKings.

Early season storylines are beginning to coagulate. Home runs are way down: 28% below the level of the 2025 season. Part of that should be attributed to the cold weather. If Albert Einstein could crawl out of his grave, not only would he freak us out, he would also tell us the physical properties that make a baseball travel less distance in cool air.
Today I'll select six MLB best bets: two moneyline, two player props, and two parlays for games on Friday, April 10.
If I asked you to name the streakiest batter in baseball, who would you say?
You should answer with James Woods.
The Nationals left fielder is the classic streaky power hitter. Take last season: Woods clubbed 7 HR in his first 20 games. In the next two months he twice had stretches of two weeks without a big fly. Then, from June 24 to August 20, he hit 3 HR. He hit a homer on August 21, then went homerless for 10 games, hit a HR, went without a homer for 16 games(!), then he hit four HR in three games in the final few days of the season.
Woods had a quiet 31 home runs in 2025. Not a lot of people outside of the District of Columbia know who he is. But, he's got a monster power swing. And he's on a tear right now. Woods has 3 HR in his last four games.
Which is why I'm in on this player prop:
The boo birds were out early in Queens to serenade Bo Bichette, the newest Mets superstar free agent. Bichette has stuck a sock in those birds: hits in 7 of his last 8 games, including three multi-hit games. You aren't going to keep Bichette from getting his hits for long.
Bo still doesn't have his first Mets HR, but I won't go out on that wager wire yet. Instead, I'll take 2+ hits for the perennial All-Star. What better opponent to pile on hits against than the Athletics, who have the third-worst FIP in baseball?
Odds are from FanDuel. Odds are based on American Odds, and a $100 wager. Adjust for your budget: a $10 bet will win $16.50, and so on.

Dodger pitcher/DH Shohei Ohtani has stated his goal to become the first Japanese-born player to win the Cy Young Award. He's off to an excellent start toward that goal: 0.00 ERA in 12 innings, with only five hits surrendered. But tonight, Shohei is bringing his batting gloves only to the diamond.
Currently, Ohtani has a 43-game on-base streak. That's tied for the longest by a Japanese player in MLB history (Ichiro Suzuki). I expect him to break that record tonight, and I like his chances to barrel a pitch up into the gap for an extra-base hit. Or if he happens to send one over the fence, we win this bet too, as long as he walks at least once.
Odds are +254 for this two-leg parlay.
Rangers starting pitcher Kumar Rocker has never faced the Dodgers lineup. That's part of why I love the chances for Ohtani to walk and rake tonight. Rocker will be careful. But he will eventually have to send pitches into the zone. And no one murders fat pitches in the strike zone more than Freddie Freeman.
Look out, pitchers! Freeman is off to a great start. The 36-year old veteran has an eight-game hitting streak. He has seven extra-base hits in 12 games, including three home runs. Freddie Freeman is one of those stars who does not dim quickly. He's going to keep adding to his Hall of Fame credentials.
I like Freeman to tee off on Rocker's heater.
Odds are +270 for this two-leg Dodgers parlay.
These odds are from DraftKings Sportsbook.
The ballpark at Chavez Ravine has seen many great moments, teams, and games. Only two venues in MLB have hosted baseball longer than Dodger Stadium, which debuted on this date in 1962.
The fans in Southern California could witness history this season if the Dodgers win another pennant and cap it off with a title. No team has won three consecutive World Series since the Yankees (1998-2000).
No National League team has won three straight World Series. Many people say "history is being made" when something amazing happens, even if it's not true. But, in this case, the Dodgers are on the precipice (if you will) of doing it. Enjoy this season, Dodger fans. It's going to be an epic challenge.
With the roster Dave Roberts has, I am squarely in the camp of the Dodgers when I want a moneyline winner. So Far, I'm 3-1 with LAD for ML bets. I'll pay the $240 to win $100, and take LA at home tonight. Tyler Glasnow is on the hill.
My second ML pick is the Pirates against the Cubs on the road. The Bucs are off to a decent start, primarily thanks to a surprisingly effective performance deep down the pitching corps. Tonight, Carmen Mlodzinski takes the ball to pitch against the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
In each of his two starts this season, Mlodzinski has basically made one mistake, which led to two runs each time. He's a converted reliever with five pitches. He has a heavy (and very good) four-seamer, but he needs to fine-tune his curveball. If he can keep the sinker down and rely on that four-seam fastball against the swing-happy Cubs, Mlodzinski should have success tonight.
Your winning $100 bet will be worth $123 if the Pirates win straight-up.
