You may have checked your calendar or Apple Watch the last few days to see what year it is. That's because Mike Trout has been slugging like it's 2012. The Angels outfielder has been making the Bronx his own playground this week.
Trout has hit four home runs in the series between his Angels and the Yankees. That ties a record for most homers in a single series at Yankee Stadium. This afternoon, the three-time MLB Most Valuable Player has a chance to hit a fifth in an afternoon tilt. Odds are +400 on Trout hitting a HR vs the Yanks.

Other action includes an interesting game in San Diego, one of the few cities in the United States that isn't currently being drenched in rain. The opponent for the Padres are the Mariners, a team trying to make its first World Series after missing by a whisker last season.
My picks for this MLB Best Bets article take their odds from BetMGM Sportsbook.
The Mariners are scuffling, and it's easy to see why. Seattle's Big Four have been largely toothless: Cal Raleigh, Randy Arozarena, Julio Rodriguez, and Josh Naylor have a combined six home runs, and three of them are hitting below the Mendoza Line.
But there is reason to be optimistic about the M's. The team ranks third in baseball in ERA. More illustrative than that is the fact that Seattle ranks first in MLB in Fielding Independent Pitching. That's the best measure of the effectiveness of the entire pitching staff. The Mariners will beat teams this season, even if the offense only improves slightly. But the offense will get much better.
Tonight, Seattle faces the Padres in the finale of a three-game series. The M's are trying to avoid a sweep on the road. The O is coming to life: 6+ runs in five of its last six games.
Here's my game prop for SEA at SDP for April 16:
This almost seems like a mistake from the oddsmakers. The Mariners are scoring runs. The Mariners have held a lead in each of the last seven games, and five times through five innings. Luis Castillo (Seattle starter) has pitched dreadfully this season. That can't continue. He's due for a solid start.
To win this prop bet, the Mariners must lead or be within one run after 5 innings vs. the San Diego Padres.

Here's a three-leg parlay for the Orioles vs. Guardians MLB game tonight in Cleveland:
Odds are +1800. That means a winning $10 bet wins $180, or a winning $100 wager will net $1,800.
I'm tabbing the three best hitters in this game to record at least ONE hit. All are healthy, all are swinging the bat well: each of the three his hitting over .300, with good barrel rates, per Statcast.
In his only start this season, Toronto's Patrick Corbin struggled with his command. You can't tell by the line: 4 innings and 1 walk. But sometimes lack of control is evident from how many hits and what type of hits a pitcher allows.
Against the Twins last week, Corbin fell behind too often and was forced to throw into the zone, where he wasn't quite sharp enough. The result was two home runs and four earned runs. Fortunately, the Blue Jays scored oodles of runs, and still beat the Twins, 10-4.
Tonight in Milwaukee, Corbin makes his 14th career start against the Brewers. I expect the veteran pitcher to be much sharper, and I like this matchup against the free-swinging Brew Crew. I also like the way the Jays are scoring, coming from the third-best hard hit percentage in baseball. The Blue Jays have six games of 5+ runs. Even with the loss of Bo Bichette, Toronto's lineup is dangerous.

In each of the last two seasons, the Los Angeles Dodgers treated the regular season almost like a warmup. Last season the team had to play a wild card series, for goodness sakes. But, in 2026 the Dodgers seem buoyed by their historic accomplishments. The Dodgers are on a mission to dominate.
Can anyone stop the Dodgers from capturing a third straight World Series title? Odds are +195 to win the Series, +100 for LA to win the NL pennant, and -1400 for the Dodgers to win the NL West.
The postseason can be a crapshoot. Witness last fall: the Dodgers nearly lost Game 7 of the Fall Classic, if it weren't for a terrible base running decision by Isiah Kiner-Falefa. But what about historical winning in the regular season?
BetMGM lists the Dodgers at +900 to set the MLB record with 117+ wins. LA is currently 14-4, on pace for 126 wins. But we're still early in the season, and much can happen.
A $10 bet on LA to win 117+ games would pay $90 via BetMGM.
