NBA Best Bets For Sunday, February 2

Player Prop Best Bet #1: Scotty Pippen Jr.

Scotty Pippen Jr. 2024-2025 Season Stats

G: 48| PPG: 9.6| FG: 46.3 % | FT: 68.6 % | 3PT : 35.1 % | REB: 3.4 | AST: 4.5 | STL: 1.2 | BLK: 1.3

  • Over 6.5 Points (+104 boost Fanatics)

One of my best bets for today, I placed one unit on Memphis Grizzlies guard Scotty Pippen Jr. to record over 6.5 points vs the Bucks.

Tonight the Grizzlies will be thin in the front court, especially with Ja Morant, Marcus Smart, and Cam Spencer out for tonight's game.

With Luke Kennard likely to get the starting nod, Pippen's gotten lost in the rotation somewhat as of late. Getting the starting nod for 16 games this season, the guard is coming off 12 minutes vs the Rockets.

Sure, Pippen Jr. has gone through a massive shooting slump this season. Shooting 40.8 % from the floor, Pippen Jr. has shot an abysmal 7.1 percent over the last ten games.

Scotty Pippen Jr. Has Strong Numbers Without Ja Morant In The Lineup

Even with the struggle, I happened to stumble upon this player prop on fanatics. For a player that averages 9.6 points, this line is a tad low, even with the decreased minutes.

Given the Bucks allow the 2nd most points to guards, Pippen should hopefully see more action tonight. Although tallying over points just once in the last five games, there's good news on the horizon!

Despite last game, Pippen Jr. has soared over 6.5 points in 8 of the last 10 games without Ja Morant in the lineup.

  • That includes points in double figures in seven of them. Averaging 11.6 points in the last 10 without Morant, Pippen Jr. should notched over 6.5 tonight.

With that, we've seen the flashes of  what Pippen Jr. can do. The Grizzlies guard tallied 22 against the Hawks, 19 vs the Mavericks, and 16 vs the Kings. That's just a few games to highlight.

Final NBA Best Bet Pick and Prediction Today: Scotty Pippen Jr. Over 6.5 Points (+104 Boost Fanatics)

Allowing 112 points per game, the Milwaukee Bucks allowed guards Stephon Castle and Anfernee Simons to notch 20 and 25 points. While that's not estimated for Pippen Jr., most of this prop will come down to the free-throw line. Luckily for Memphis, the Bucks allow 21.2 trips to the charity stripe per game.

Known for his two way abilities, we've seen the way Pippen Jr. is still a viable option beyond the three-point line. Up until Thursdays matchup, the guard was averaging 18.5 minutes in January. The question remains, can he break out of this shooting slump?

  • I'm taking Scotty Pippen Jr. to score over 6.5 points tonight. I love the strong numbers without Ja Morant in the lineup, and expect that to continue today.

Player Prop Best Bet #2: Jrue Holiday

Jrue Holiday 2024-2025 Season Stats

G: 42 | PPG: 11.1| FG: 44.3 % | FT: 89.1 % | 3PT : 34.7 % | REB: 4.3 | AST: 3.7| STL: 1.0 | BLK: 0.4

  • Over 13.5 Points + Assists (-102 FanDuel)

My second best for today, I placed one unit on Celtics guard Jrue Holiday to record over 13.5 points and assists against the 76ers.

In his second year with the Celtics, Holiday gets his former team. Tonight, 6MOY candidate Payton Pritchard is questionable to suit up with an illness. If inactive for tonight's game, that makes this player prop line much stronger.

Averaging 11.1 points on the season, there's no question Holiday's scoring production has taken a dip. Coming off a four point performance, Holiday is averaging 7.6 points over the last five games. While the minutes are there, there's no denying Holiday has been in a shooting slump.

Where Holiday has been extremely beneficial has come on the defensive end and facilitating the rock. One of the hottest corner three-point shooters last season, it's hard to believe Holiday has cooled off. Even so, the guard is still shooting over 36 % from deep in the last 10 games.

A crucial part of the Celtics championship run last season, we all know Holiday isn't in Boston to stat pad. In reality, he's there to help the team win, which has been their mantra through it all.

  • With that said, Holiday is coming off five assists against the Pelicans, and is averaging 3.75 dimes alone over the last four games.

And of course, we have to look at Holiday's history against his former team. First the Pelicans, and now the 76ers. Jrue Holiday is certainly going through his reunion tour.

Final NBA Best Bet Pick and Prediction Today: Jrue Holiday Over 9.5 Points (-102 FanDuel)

Yet to face the 76ers this season, there's good news on the horizon. Scoring 10+ points in seven straight games against Philadelphia, that's an average of 15.7 points. If we really take a deep dive into the stats, Holiday has soared over 13.5 points and assists in 11 consecutive games vs the 76ers. That includes scoring well over 9.5 in four games as a member of the Celtics.

The 76ers continue to ride the struggle bus, this time without Paul George, Joel Embiid, Eric Gordon, and Andre Drummond. A short handed Philadelphia team, the 76ers give up the 15th most points to guards, as well as assists.

  • Given the history, matchup, and injury reports, this player prop line is a bit low. Tonight, I'm taking Jrue Holiday to score over 9.5 points for nearly plus money.

Moneyline Best Bet: Memphis Grizzlies vs Milwaukee Bucks

  • Memphis Grizzlies moneyline +130 (FanDuel)

Tonight, I placed one unit on the Memphis Grizzlies to win the moneyline outright (+130) vs the Milwaukee Bucks.

Sure, call me crazy especially since Ja Morant is out for tonight's game. The storyline of this season has been Milwaukee's ability to win games without Morant, and I'm sticking with that tonight.

With a 32-16 record, the Grizzlies are the no.3 team in the Western Conference. Holding a 13-7 record without Morant in the lineup, Memphis is a sneaky team. Filled with young talent, Jaren Jackson Jr., Desmond Bane, and the depth is a monumental reason why this team is so good.

Then we have to talk about Jaylen Wells and Zach Edey who have flourished in their rookie seasons. I'm hot on the Grizzlies and have been since the start of the season.

  • +2.5 point underdogs, the Grizzlies have gained some impressive wins in the absence of Morant. As bettors, we've seen Memphis defeat the Nuggets, Suns, Mavericks, Rockets, and other above .500 teams.

The Grizzlies Are Coming Off A Massive Victory Over The Houston Rockets

And of course we can't forget the Grizzlies gutsy 120-119 victory over the Rockets on Thursday. Able to overcome an 11 point deficit, it was Jaren Jackson Jr. who sealed the deal with free-throws.

What's more impressive was the point combination of 81 points from Jackson Jr., Desmond Bane, Luke Kennard, and Santi Aldama. Speaking of Kennard, talk about an absolute stud of a player. Over the last 10 games, he's been lights out, averaging 55.8 percent from deep.

While Morant remains out for the Grizzlies, they have the pieces to stay alive. 8-2 in their last ten games, did you know the Grizzlies are the top offensive team in the NBA?

You heard that correctly. The Memphis Grizzlies average a league high 123.2 points per game, and remain one of the strongest three-point teams in the league. Dominant on the boards, this is a Grizzlies team that excels in getting to the free-throw line.

  • In fact, they put up a ton of shots, second in the NBA with 93.1 per game.

Final NBA Best Bet Pick and Prediction Today: Memphis Grizzlies ML (+130 FanDuel)

Having shown they can keep up with the top teams, the Grizzlies are coming off a victory against a top defensive team in the West. Coming off two consecutive losses to the Spurs and Portland, Milwaukee's caliber of defense is a major concern.

First the Bucks allowed the Trail Blazers to put up 125 points. The next game, the Spurs dominated them for 144 points. Aside from Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, there's been a serious lack of offense at times.

Although 6-4 in their last 10 games, the Bucks have lost 3 of the last 4 games. While they are at home tonight, I'll pick the Grizzlies to continue their hot streak. Until the Bucks find their way again, i'll fade them all day.
