“Philadelphia recorded its second consecutive win on Tuesday following a 109-97 drubbing of the Chicago Bulls while Los Angeles won its fourth straight game after pummeling the hapless Charlotte Hornets.”
Will the 76ers sustain its winning momentum and pull off another upset or will the Lakers complete the sweep of the season series?
That remains to be seen but as of press time, let’s find out how both teams look in this comprehensive Philadelphia 76ers vs Los Angeles Lakers sports predictions article.
Injuries have continued to hound the Philadelphia 76ers with forward Paul George and center Andre Drummond being the latest casualties to their long list of miseries.
However, that didn’t stop the 76ers from completely dominating the Chicago Bulls as they used a total team effort to thwart the latter 109-97 and secure its second consecutive win.
George and Drummond are listed as day-to-day but regardless of whether they play or not, the 76ers should have enough firepower to beat the odds and cover the spread against the Los Angeles Lakers.
For the 76ers to cover the spread versus the Lakers, however, they would need to double their efforts, especially in the three-point area. Against Chicago, Philadelphia only shot 28.9% from three but thankfully their defense held up in the waning minutes of the game.
The Los Angeles Lakers have been winning games for fun in the past week or so and it couldn’t come at a better time as they look to improve their position in the standings.
Los Angeles secured its fourth consecutive win after clobbering the Charlotte Hornets thanks to stellar performances from Anthony Davis and LeBron James who hit the 20-point mark together for the fourth consecutive game.
The Lakers will look to make it five straight and from the looks of it, they might be able to do such a thing as they take on the short-handed Philadelphia 76ers next.
With Davis and James in elite form, leaning towards the Lakers to cover the spread and potentially pull off another double digit victory is something worth a shot at these current odds.
One thing we’d like to see from Los Angeles here is make their presence felt on the boards a bit more. While they beat the 76ers last time, the Lakers were neck-and-neck with their opponents in the rebounding battle, which is something they couldn’t afford especially with Tyrese Maxey back in the lineup.
Had the Philadelphia 76ers been completely healthy, then they certainly have a case of running roughshod against a talented Los Angeles Lakers squad. However, the 76ers are far from healthy and that could be the telling factor here versus the Lakers.
With the Lakers in tip-top form and firing on all cylinders, there could be massive value towards backing them to cover the spread and pull off another dominant win here. Give me the Lakers to cover the spread at -110.
