The New York Knicks gun for its second straight win while the Minnesota Timberwolves look to return to the win column as they clash this Friday at Madison Square Garden.

“New York rebounded from Monday’s loss versus the Detroit Pistons with a 125-119 overtime win over the Philadelphia 76ers while Minnesota lose a nail-biting 116-115 decision against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday.”
- Early New York Knicks vs Minnesota Timberwolves odds have cat-quick point guard Jalen Brunson and the Knicks as the slight four-point favorite versus the Timberwolves here.
- In their first meeting this season, versatile slot man Karl-Anthony Towns exploded with a double-double performance of 32 points and 20 rebounds to lead the Knicks to a 133-107 win over the Timberwolves in his return to Minnesota.
- It is, however, worth noting that the Timberwolves have shown some resilience away from home this season, having covered the spread 11 times in 21 road games.
Will the Timberwolves avenge their loss earlier this season or will the Knicks complete its 2-0 romp of the former?

Best NBA odds for New York Knicks vs Minnesota Timberwolves
- The New York Knicks beat the Minnesota Timberwolves by double digits earlier this season. The best New York Knicks odds for Jalen Brunson and the home team to cover the spread are available on Caesars Sportsbook at -110.
- The Minnesota Timberwolves have won three of the past six meetings with the New York Knicks. Bet365 offers the best odds for the Timberwolves to win outright at +155.
- A high-scoring affair is always in cards when the New York Knicks and the Minnesota Timberwolves clash. The best New York Knicks vs Minnesota Timberwolves odds for the over total are available on DraftKings at -110.
Why will the New York Knicks cover the spread?
Sharpshooting big man Karl-Anthony Towns sat out with a thumb injury on Wednesday but it didn’t stop the New York Knicks from outlasting the Philadelphia 76ers 125-119 in overtime to return to the win column.
- Six Knicks players hit the double figure mark led by franchise guard Jalen Brunson who scattered 38 points on 63.6% from the field while swingman Mikal Bridges added 23 points on 50% shooting from the three-point country.
New York is still mum about Towns’ injury status but he is listed as day-to-day in their next assignment versus the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Although Towns’ presence would give the home squad a major boost considering he dropped 32 points and 20 rebounds against the Timberwolves earlier this season, the Knicks still have plenty of offensive firepower in their midst.
- One name that comes to mind is Brunson who has been playing out of this world lately, averaging 37.7 points, seven assists, and 4.7 rebounds on an insane 58.4% shooting from the field in the past three games.
- Other than Brunson, New York has also gotten a major lift from Bridges who has been averaging 25 points while converting 63% of his three-point attempts in the last two games.
For the Knicks to cover the spread versus the Timberwolves here, they would need to do better at taking care of the ball. In their first encounter versus Minnesota, New York turned the ball over 15 times, which is something they cannot afford right now with Towns out of commission.
Should the Knicks address their turnover issues and get Brunson to step his game up, backing the home team to cover the four-point spread even without the services of Towns should offer plenty of value at -110.

Why will the Minnesota Timberwolves cover the spread?
A strong Minnesota Timberwolves fightback was stifled late as they fell to the Golden State Warriors 116-115 despite 28-point performances from guards Anthony Edwards and Donte DiVincenzo.
Minnesota looks to rebound quickly as they challenge the New York Knicks next – a team that beat them by double digits at home earlier this season.
In their first encounter with the Knicks this season, the Timberwolves, particularly Edwards, struggled from the field as the high-flying shooting guard only managed to record 17 points on three-for-seven shooting from three.
It also didn’t help that the Timberwolves allowed former franchise superstar Karl-Anthony Towns to explode for an insane double-double of 32 points and 20 rebounds on a near-perfect 10-for-12 shooting from the field.
With Towns likely out for this game, Minnesota now has a good enough chance of covering the spread and possibly winning outright at the current odds bookmakers suggest.
- If that’s not good enough, the 23-year old Edwards has been playing like a man possessed in the past two games with stellar averages of 34.5 points, seven rebounds, 4.5 assists, and two steals on 46.4% shooting from the field.
- Moreover, the Timberwolves have also started to hit the mark from downtown lately as evident by their impressive shooting versus the Warriors where they converted 50% of their shots from rainbow country.
One thing we’d like to see the Timberwolves do more here though is control the rebounding battle. Against the Knicks last time, Minnesota found themselves out-rebounded by the former 57-37 and what’s even worse is they gave away 16 second chance opportunities.
Final New York Knicks vs Minnesota Timberwolves NBA Prediction: Over 221 (-110)
Considering the talent level and lineup depth of the New York Knicks and the Minnesota Timberwolves, they each have a case of covering the spread and walking away with a comfortable victory.
While the Knicks have Jalen Brunson to lead their offense, you cannot discount the scoring prowess of Anthony Edwards and the rest of the Timberwolves. That said, I am going with over points total to hit at -110. It is also worth noting that the over total hit in five of the previous six encounters between the Knicks and the Timberwolves.
