Winners of four consecutive, the Indiana Pacers gun for its fifth straight win as they host Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors this Friday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
“This will be the second and final meeting between the Pacers and the Warriors with the former winning their initial encounter 111-105 despite coming in as a moderate 5.5-point underdog.”
Will the Pacers continue its mastery over the Warriors this season or will Stephen Curry and the rest of Golden State respond in style?
That remains to be seen but as of press time, here’s how the current Indiana Pacers vs Golden State Warriors odds look like as we head into an exciting matchup that could potentially be decided in the dying seconds of the game.
Towering center Myles Turner sat out on Wednesday but it didn’t stop the Indiana Pacers from recording its fourth straight win as they blew past the Chicago Bulls 129-113.
Five Pacers hit the twin digit mark led by forward Pascal Siakam’s 26 points while bruising center Thomas Bryant exploded for a season-high 22 points and eight rebounds in lieu of Turner’s absence.
The 28-year old Turner is listed as questionable but he is expected to play next game as Indiana hosts the Golden State Warriors.
Unlike their previous encounter this season where they came in as a moderate 5.5-point underdogs, the Pacers head into this matchup as the six-point favorites as per the latest Indiana Pacers vs Golden State Warriors odds and rightfully so.
It is also worth noting that the Warriors will be missing the services of Jonathan Kuminga who is sidelined for the next couple of weeks due to an ankle sprain. The 22-year old Kuminga led Golden State in scoring in their last encounter versus the Pacers with 26 points off the bench.
All things considered, there could be value towards backing the Pacers to cover the -6 spread versus the Warriors at home, especially with how they’ve beaten this same team on the road this season.
Undermanned and short-handed in all sorts, the Golden State Warriors leaned on their three-point shooting prowess to beat the Detroit Pistons 107-104 on Thursday and snap a two-game losing skid.
Sharpshooting guard Buddy Hield had 19 points on five out of 11 shooting from the three-point country while Stephen Curry had 17 points, 10 rebounds, and six assists for the Warriors who were missing key role players such as Andrew Wiggins, Moses Moody, and Jonathan Kuminga.
Golden State will look to make it two in a row as they battle the Indiana Pacers next – a team that gave them the business in their first encounter this season.
However, amidst the doom and gloom, there are a few things to be optimistic about for the Warriors as they look to even up the season series.
Turner is listed as questionable with an illness and even if he does play here, he is unlikely to be 100% healthy and that is something the Warriors could take advantage of.
With Golden State missing some of its key role players, they would need everyone to dominate the rebounding battle versus Indiana and perhaps capitalized on their shots from the charity stripe.
Should the Warriors address those issues and get offensive contributions from everyone, the -110 odds on them to cover the +6 spread should be a no-brainer.
As long as the Golden State Warriors have Stephen Curry and its team of elite shooters, they always have a chance to win against the top squads in the league.
However, as many of you know, I do not bet on chances but rather on thorough analysis and the smart choice here is backing the Indiana Pacers to cover the spread at -110.
Considering the history of both teams this season, I am far more confident in the Pacers to win big at home, especially with how consistent the Warriors have been this season. Give me the Pacers to cover the spread.
