NBA Player Props Tonight for Clippers vs Mavericks: James Harden and My +525 SGP (Dec 19)

The Los Angeles Clippers made a statement with a blowout win over the Utah Jazz earlier in the week, proving their tough run of form defensively was nothing more than a reflection of their brutal schedule.

Now, they'll begin a miniature two-game road series against the Dallas Mavericks as they look to build upon that win on Monday and begin to remind the world of the basketball they've been capable of playing this year.

Let's build a same-game parlay for Clippers vs Mavericks on Thursday, December 19 and lay out a few props that will work well as standalone straight bets as well.

James Harden 30+ Points + Assists

The big news on Thursday night is that Luka Doncic will sit this game out with a left heel contusion, and that should open an already-ajar door for James Harden against the Mavericks.

• The star guard is coming off a 41-point night against a poor Jazz defense, but still managed to notch six assists in just 30 minutes as he picked apart a team that struggles in the mid-range along with the arc.

Harden should be able to find plenty of openings on the pick-and-roll here against a Mavericks team which is just 17th in defending the mid-range this month, racking up plenty of assists against a team allowing the ninth-most per 100 possessions.

If that wasn't enough, he'll now be able to operate freely without Doncic guarding him -- meaning Harden is primed to score the ball a bunch here as well. The Mavericks should afford Harden plenty of assists, but with one of the very worst 3-point defenses in the NBA this month we could easily see another scoring explosion for LA's lead man.

The Mavericks are giving up many more looks inside the arc with Doncic off the floor as well, with a near five-point dip in mid-range defense, so the Clippers' inside focus should shine bright behind Harden.

Ivica Zubac 15+ Points

The very specific area of the floor that's given Dallas some issues is the short mid-range, where it has allowed the seventh-most shots on average to opponents for the year. It's managed to yield 44.9% shooting in this area of the floor during the month of December, ranking 19th, and that means Ivica Zubac should once again be a weapon on offense for the Clippers.

• Zubac's broken out this year in averaging a career-high 14.9 points on 11 attempts -- almost four more than he's ever taken per game -- and has done his damage in the short-mid range where he's in the top 5% of the league in shot frequency.

Harden should have an even easier time getting his big man the ball on the pick-and-roll without Doncic on the floor, and that should mean Zubac hits this mark for a third time in four games and a 16th time in 28 total contests this year.

Daniel Gafford 10+ Points

Speaking of Zubac, he hasn't exactly produced the same kind of results on the defensive end.

The Clippers are sitting dead last in rim defense this month and we do know the Mavericks have grown fond of inside scoring -- especially when Doncic isn't an option.

• Dallas has increased its shot frequency at the rim by a whopping five percentage points with Doncic off the floor, and on the other side of the coin it's shot at the rim at a clip that's five points higher in Gafford's minutes.

That's all I need to hear given the stretch that this Clippers frontcourt defense has endured, and the fact that LA will be looking to score inside so much means that the center should see a good chunk of minutes.

He's only missed out on scoring 10 points three times in his last 22 games, averaging 13 over that stretch, and in shooting over 77% from the field we can expect great results in this matchup.
