While the New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets may be on different wavelengths at the moment with one team very much contending and the other looking forward to a rebuild, that hasn't stopped this rivalry from producing some great games.

As we get set to watch these two in-city rivals battle it out on national television, we'll keep things simple and hunt down three players who should be in position to score the ball in Brooklyn.
Let's build a same-game parlay for Knicks vs Nets on Tuesday, January 21 and lay out a few props that will work well as standalone straight bets as well.

Jalen Brunson 25+ Points
It seems as if January is Jalen Brunson's month to shine. Since coming to New York, he's turned his season around in stunning fashion each time the calendar has turned to the new year, averaging over 28 points to top each of his first three months by quite some margin.
- This January is no exception with Brunson putting up 29.2 points per game to beat his next-best month, November, by nearly three.
The star guard has been on an absolute tear, hitting this mark in six straight contests, and to make matters even sweeter he's done it in six of his last nine games against the Nets.
With all that said, this matchup looks great for Brunson. The Nets should be digging fairly deep down their bench with so many injuries, and their defense is in disarray. They've ranked inside the bottom six of the league against shots at the rim and the short mid-range this month, where Brunson makes his money.

Josh Hart 12+ Points
Staying consistent with what we've said about this matchup above, we'll have to take a crack at one of the most reliable interior scorers in the league who comes in quite a different package.
- Josh Hart has taken 48% of his shots at the rim this year to sit in the top 10% of all wings, and as he's hit on 75% of these looks it's no surprise that his overall field goal percentage on the yar sits at a whopping 55.7%.
Hart can devastate from the mid-range as well, where he's shooting 49% with a heavy focus on the short mid-range. Brooklyn, as we've covered, is in the bottom six when it comes to stopping shots in these two areas in January, but more than that I'm fixated on the fact that they've given up the eighth-most shots on average at the rim.
That should mean Hart finds himself some space to shoot inside, and with how hot he's running there should be little in his way of notching 12 points. He's done so in three of his last four, and has scored 14 or more both times against the Nets.
Ben Simmons 8+ Points
One man who hasn't been a scorer for the Nets in this matchup is Ben Simmons, but he hasn't been much of a scorer all year.
That seems like it may be changing a bit, however, with Simmons taking on more of a role since the middle of December.
- In 11 contests since December 16th, Simmons has seen nearly 29 minutes per game, and has averaged over eight points on 7.1 attempts from the floor.
- He's shooting 51.3% in these games, and as you may expect that's been due to his heavy focus on interior shooting.
Just about single one of Simmons' shots this year has come in the short mid-range or at the rim, where Cleaning the Glass has him taking 100% of his attempts, and that makes for an interesting matchup against a Knicks team which has ranked 28th against the short mid-range shot this month.
While New York's rim defense has dramatically improved, it has still given up the 10th-highest shots on average in that zone -- and Simmons, shooting 67% on these attempts, should be able to break down the Knicks' defenses when he inevitably finds himself with the ball down low.
