Several of tomorrow’s WNBA stars will be on the floor for their current teams tonight. So, if you want to see tomorrow’s WNBA stars today (and bet on them), then tonight is your kind of night (odds via DraftKings).
There were high expectations for the Bruins coming into this season, and so far, they have not disappointed. They are 19-01 overall and undefeated in conference play heading into this game, with the one loss coming against then-No. 4 Texas on November 26, 76-65.
At 15-5, Illinois is having a good season, but not a great one. They looked solid in non-conference play, losing only to Oregon State in the third game of the season. Conference play has been tough (5-4), with losses to four ranked teams, but they beat the highest-ranked team, then-No. 7 Maryland, 73-70.
I get nervous when a good team like UCLA is laying so many points. But the Bruins have won their last three games by 30+ points, including vs. then-No. 12 Maryland. Illinois is a good team, but UCLA is one of the best. Only two wins have come by less than ten points; this game will not be one of them.

Washington got the season off to a strong start, winning eight in a row. When the bulk of their conference schedule got underway, they were 10-2. They took their third loss of the season against No. 15 Michigan State following their signature win of the season, 64-62 vs. then-No. 6 Michigan.
They followed that loss with a fourth, vs. Purdue, but have since won four in a row (6-3 in Big Ten play). As for Maryland, the Terps went 14-0 before dropping their first game (vs. Illinois, 73-70). They’ve lost three of their last four, but all three losses were to ranked teams. In their last game, they gave No. 10 Iowa a good fight, but lost in overtime, 85-78.
Maryland ranks No. 12 in the country in scoring with 84.4 points per game; Washington averages around 74. Washington plays at a slow pace, averaging 68.8 possessions per game, putting it among the slowest in the country; Maryland plays at a quicker pace, averaging 73.1 possessions per game.
Defensively, they are two of the better teams in the Big Ten. Both teams have the potential to win this game, but whoever does will do so in a low-scoring contest.
Iowa State was having a great season, getting off to a 14-0, 2-0 start, but then the hard times hit, and they lost five in a row in conference play. They had respectable efforts in the first couple (72-70 vs. Baylor and 71-63 vs. Cincinnati), but the last defeat was the worst (86-58 to Oklahoma State).
They have since bounced back with a 93-68 win over Cincinnati and a 90-65 victory over Arizona. But how will they handle playing against one of the best defenses in the country and the second-best in the conference (Texas Tech)? The Red Raiders won 19 in a row before dropping two in a row, one to Kansas State (65-59) and the other to BYU (73-61).
However, they bounced back their last time out with a 77-49 win over Utah. W
I want to lean towards picking Texas Tech to win because of their stifling defense, but I can’t ignore Iowa State’s offense (No. 11 in the country). The Red Raiders will slow them down, but stop them altogether? I don’t think so. Texas Tech will likely win, but Iowa State will keep it close.
