NFL Best Bets: Los Angeles Rams 2026-27 Win Total Odds & Predictions

Key Points
  • Matthew Stafford may be coming off the finest individual season of his career, as he paced the league with 4,707 yards and established a personal best with 46 touchdown passes.
  • Puka Nacua led the NFL with 129 receptions, finished second in receiving yards and tied for sixth in touchdown catches.
  • The Rams tied for seventh in the league with 47 regular-season sacks and generated pressure on 38 percent of opposing dropbacks, the NFL’s fifth-best rate.

The Los Angeles Rams have knocked on the door of the Super Bowl in consecutive seasons, only to watch the eventual champion end its run away from home. Philadelphia survived the Rams, 28-22, in a divisional-round thriller two years ago. Seattle then denied them, 31-27, in last season’s NFC championship game. Those results reveal a team requiring refinement, not reconstruction.

That distinction matters when evaluating the Rams' win total. Coach Sean McVay already has a roster capable of navigating January, and the organization addressed one of its clearest weaknesses without disrupting an offense that ranked among the NFL's most dangerous. Reaching 12 victories is a demanding expectation, but Los Angeles possesses the quarterback, firepower and defensive upgrades to clear it.

Matthew Stafford may be coming off the finest individual season of his career, as he paced the league with 4,707 yards and established a personal best with 46 touchdown passes. But that accomplishment only increases the urgency surrounding 2026. After 17 years in the NFL, the former Georgia star finally captured his first MVP award, narrowly beating Drake Maye after leading the league in passing yards and touchdown passes while finishing second in passer rating. At this stage, however, another collection of impressive numbers will not be enough. This season must be measured by whether Stafford can take the Rams back to the Super Bowl.

Quarterback Competition

Stafford's place atop the depth chart is secure today, but Los Angeles has already begun preparing for tomorrow. Selecting Ty Simpson in the first round was not a routine investment in quarterback depth. It was an unmistakable acknowledgment that the Stafford era is approaching its conclusion. McVay may insist the job belongs to Stafford for as long as he wants it, but the organization cannot keep its first-round successor on the sideline indefinitely.

Stafford’s health adds another layer of uncertainty. Persistent back trouble prevented him from fully participating in training camp last summer, even though he recovered well enough to start all 17 games for the first time since 2021. Remaining available for another complete season cannot be assumed for a quarterback with his mileage and medical history.

That is why 2026 carries more weight than an ordinary championship pursuit. Stafford has the coach, supporting cast and roster necessary to win now, but he no longer possesses an unlimited timeline. He must turn MVP production into a deep postseason breakthrough before the Rams decide their future can no longer wait.

Complementing Matthew Stafford

While Stafford remains the centerpiece of the Rams' offense, Los Angeles' championship ceiling will depend heavily on the playmakers surrounding him. The Rams possess enough variety at running back and receiver to attack defenses in different ways, keeping opponents from concentrating entirely on Stafford and the passing game.

Kyren Williams supplies reliability in the backfield. He ranked sixth in the NFL in rushing yards and tied for ninth in rushing touchdowns last season, while also catching three scoring passes. He may not consistently produce the most spectacular highlights, but his vision, toughness and dependable production give McVay a runner capable of sustaining drives and controlling games.

That creates a complicated reality. Stafford is still performing like one of the NFL’s premier quarterbacks, yet every injury, losing streak or disappointing playoff result will intensify calls to accelerate Simpson’s development. The rookie must first beat out Stetson Bennett for the backup role, but the pressure to eventually evaluate him will increase with each passing month.

Blake Corum provides a more explosive alternative and could earn an expanded workload this season. The former Michigan standout offers the burst to create larger gains when running lanes develop. Increasing Corum’s involvement would also help preserve Williams over a long season while giving Los Angeles a more unpredictable two-back rotation.

The Wide Receivers: Puka Nacua and Davante Adams

The passing game remains loaded. Puka Nacua led the NFL with 129 receptions, finished second in receiving yards and tied for sixth in touchdown catches. Entering the final year of his rookie contract, the BYU product has both a championship objective and enormous financial motivation. Another dominant campaign could position him to become one of football’s highest-paid receivers.

Davante Adams continues to show that he can decide games, particularly near the goal line. Despite missing three contests because of a hamstring injury, the veteran wideout still led the league in touchdown receptions (14). His route-running precision, body control and ability to defeat tight coverage make him Stafford’s most dependable scoring option.

Hello Myles Garrett

The acquisition of Myles Garrett was the defining move of the Rams' offseason and may be the transaction that transforms a championship contender into the Super Bowl favorite. Los Angeles already possessed a productive defensive front, but adding one of the NFL’s most destructive pass rushers gives the unit a game-changing presence it previously lacked.

The Rams tied for seventh in the league with 47 regular-season sacks and generated pressure on 26.3% of opposing dropbacks, the NFL’s fourth-best rate. Those numbers suggest the pass rush was consistently effective, but its production disappeared when the stakes were highest. Los Angeles recorded just five sacks across three postseason games, allowing opposing quarterbacks too much time during the moments that ultimately determined its season.

Garrett was acquired to prevent that from happening again. His value extends beyond his individual sack totals. Offenses must account for him on every snap, often committing an additional blocker or adjusting their protection before the play begins. That attention should create favorable one-on-one opportunities for the Rams’ other defensive linemen and allow the coaching staff to generate pressure without relying on heavy blitz packages.

Prediction: Rams OVER 11.5 Wins (-125 via DraftKings)

Stafford remains the engine. Despite entering 2025 with questions surrounding his back, he responded with the most prolific passing season of his career, and he's made it clear he's ready to demonstrate that age and durability concerns have not diminished his command of McVay’s system.

Few quarterbacks have a more complete collection of playmakers. Nacua can win through contact, create after the catch and consistently move the chains. Adams gives Stafford a technically brilliant route runner who becomes especially dangerous near the goal line. Williams and Corum provide enough power, balance and depth to prevent opponents from building their entire game plan around the passing attack.

The offseason investment in the defense will also prove to be key, with Garrett being the linchpin for an improved stop unit.

The Rams do not need to imagine what championship football looks like; they have been separated from the Super Bowl by only a handful of decisive plays. If Stafford remains healthy, the offense should continue overwhelming opponents. If the revamped defense converts a few close contests into victories, Los Angeles has every ingredient needed to surpass 11.5 wins.
