NFL on Thanksgiving did not disappoint, and the momentum will carry into tonight's showdown featuring the Cowboys and Lions! There are several popular touchdown scorer options, but who will cross the plane on Thursday night?

The 6-5 Dallas Cowboys will take on the 7-5 Detroit Lions in an NFC clash. Two teams. One matchup. The Cowboys and Lions will continue to compete for the last NFC wild card playoff spot.
3.5-point spread favorites on the road, the Lions boast one of the NFL's most powerful offenses. While several players are injured, there still should be plenty of scoring opportunities tonight.

Per FanDuel, the Cowboys have a 78% chance to miss the playoffs, and the Lions, 63%. In other words, every touchdown matters in this matchup!
Under Dan Campbell's aggressive offense, the Lions lead the NFL with 43 total touchdowns this season, and the Cowboys with 40 (No. 6). Under Dak Prescott and a four-game win streak, the Cowboys rank No. 9 in offensive DVOA, and the Lions, No. 6 in offensive DVOA.
Two stacked NFC teams, the Cowboys and Lions, haven't faced off since October 2024. With the Lions' last defeating Dallas 47-9, five touchdowns alone were scored on Detroit's side.
CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Javonte Williams are all popular touchdown picks, while Detroit's offense may look somewhat different. If Amon-Ra St. Brown is unable to play, who will step up?
The Thursday TNF matchup will be available to watch on Amazon Prime Video. Let's take a deeper dive into my three best bets and touchdown scorer predictions for the Nov. 20 primetime NFL matchup featuring the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions.
With the over/under total set for 53.5 points, the books are predicting a shootout. Tonight will feature top quarterbacks in Prescott and Jared Goff.
All of my bets in this article were made separately within FanDuel and DraftKings Sportsbook.
GP: 12 | REC: 38 | Targets: 63 | Receiving Yards: 706 | AVG: 18.6 | TD: 6 | Rec. Long: 64
Tonight, I'm taking Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams to score a touchdown for nearly plus money (-105 odds).
I bet on him in my previous article, and I'm doubling down. As mentioned in my previous article, Amon-Ra St. Brown left Thanksgiving early with an ankle injury and is unlikely to play tonight. In that case, Williams would rise as Jared Goff's top receiver tonight.
While Isaac TeSlaa and Tom Kennedy could have breakout nights, I went with the safe pick. Plus, this has great value.
Although St. Brown leads the team in touchdowns (9), Williams cracks just outside the top 10 in touchdowns this season (6). A downfield threat for Goff, Williams has emerged as a legitimate and reliable red zone threat.
Recording four touchdowns over the last five games, I'm riding the hot hand here. Elite defenses or not, we've seen him score against the Vikings, Commanders, Eagles, and Packers as of late. Not to mention, he's generated 417 yards of offense over the last five games.
We saw Williams light up the Packers for 144 receiving yards and a touchdown on Thanksgiving, all while doing so when St.Brown left the game with an ankle injury. And now that Sam LaPorta is out for the season, Williams is the top dog standing.
Logging 95, 97, and 94 percent of snaps over the last three weeks, Williams is one of the most underrated wide receivers in the NFL. Let alone, he's a player who has to work hard for touchdowns. With speed and the ability to break tackles, he averages 8.8 yards after the catch. We saw this against Green Bay last week.
In fact, he ranks No. 12 in YAC (706), which should show you the picture here.
Now he gets a prime matchup against an improved Cowboys defense, but one that ranks No. 29 in defensive pass DVOA. We are talking about a Dallas team that gives up the third-most passing yards per game (251.5) and allows the second-most touchdowns to wide receivers.
This is a Cowboys team that allows 28.5 points per game and 3.5 TOTAL touchdowns per game. If you need to know anything about the Lions, they are aggressive, pass-heavy, and love to take chances on fourth-downs.
Sure, Dallas is on a hot streak, but that doesn't mean the secondary has exactly shut down their opponents. They've recently been forgiving to WR1s, allowing the following receivers to score multiple touchdowns in one game. That includes:
We've even seen second-year standout Rome Odunze explode for three touchdowns against the Cowboys. While they upgraded their defensive line in the Micah Parsons trade, the secondary is still very suspect.
GP: 12 | REC: 73 | Targets: 105 | Receiving Yards: 1,142 | AVG: 15.6 | TD: 8 | Rec. Long: 45
My second touchdown bet for tonight, I placed one unit on Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens to cross the plane.
I could be wrong, but I'm not fading the books tonight. 53.5 is a high total, but I do believe there will be plenty of offense generated tonight.
Ranked top ten in offensive DVOA, the Cowboys' offense is on fire, and they sit second behind the Bills, averaging 29.3 points over the last three weeks.
It's clear the offense is humming, with Dak Prescott and company recording an NFL-best 437 yards per game over the last three outings. Up in the rankings alongside the Chiefs and Packers, Dallas is averaging 2.7 passing touchdowns per game over that span.
Bettors can thank George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb, who are arguably the best wide receiver duo in the NFL. Leading the Cowboys with 1,142, Pickens has tallied eight touchdowns through 12 games. With or without Lamb (injuries), Prescott has found Pickens in two of the last three games.
There's been no one hotter than Pickens. Well, that's not true, maybe Jaxson Smith-Njigba. Either way, Pickens has the seventh most red zone receiving yards in the NFL (64), and ranks just outside the top ten in red zone target percentage (44.7 %). With four red zone touchdowns, he's very much a deep-ball threat.
Tonight all depends on the Lions' defense, which is banged-up. Even still, the Lions allow the 10th most touchdowns to receivers. We've especially seen this over the last two weeks, where Dontayvion Wicks scored two touchdowns alone against Detroit on Thanksgiving.
The Cowboys had a streak of 5 weeks without allowing a touchdown to WR1, but have given up three touchdowns over the last 2 weeks.
Does a WR1 mean much? Pickens continues to operate as Prescott's top receiver alongside Lamb and Jake Ferguson. And it's clear both Prescott and Pickens have developed a strong connection. Currently, he ranks in the top five in red zone targets (17) alone!
GP: 9 | REC: 51 | Targets: 81 | Receiving Yards: 744 | AVG: 14.6 | TD: 3 | Rec. Long: 74
My third-best bet for today, I placed one unit on Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb to score a touchdown.
As mentioned above, the Cowboys' offense is rolling. And rarely do I EVER pair two wide receivers of the same team to score a touchdown. Given that Detroit running backs have terrible value, I don't trust the Cowboys' run game tonight. This season, Detroit has allowed just five touchdowns to running backs.
There's no question Lamb has missed some time with injury, but he has been productive when on the field. He's put up 744 receiving yards on 81 targets and 51 receptions in just nine games. While the touchdowns aren't high, he's found the end zone two times over the last three games.
Also mentioned above, the Lions' secondary is hurt, and Lamb is likely to be matched with Amik Robertson or D.J. Reed. With that said, Lamb has been a crucial contributor to the team's success—187 receiving yards over the last two outings!
While Pickens has stolen the show, it's hard to argue that Lamb and Pickens aren't the best 1-2 punch in the NFL. Lamb not only found the end zone against the Chiefs but also the Raiders.
We saw Pickens and Lamb double up against the Raiders. Can it happen again tonight? This season, CeeDee has hauled in six targets on 12 red zone targets for a pair of touchdowns and 51 receiving yards. Not to mention, he's been targeted 31.6% in the end zone this season.
Take away the last three games—the Cowboys are averaging 2.2 passing touchdowns per game, and the Lions gave up two alone to receivers last week.
