Week 4 action in the National Football League presents a number of intriguing matchups. The undefeated Las Vegas Raiders (yes, really) are hosting the undefeated Kansas City Chiefs.
Other games include a European game in London between the Indianapolis Colts (1-2) and Washington Commanders (1-2). I'll pick that game and make prop betting picks elsewhere across the NFL.

If you had the Raiders to be undefeated after three weeks, you are more than wise.
No one knew the Raiders would surge so quickly into the first year of Fernando Mendoza. Especially considering the fact that Mendoza holds a clipboard on the sideline while his teammates play the games. These are the Kirk Cousins Raiders, the "nice" silver-and-black renegades of the NFL.
The 3-0 Chiefs are in Las Vegas for this game of undefeated teams. Each of these teams rank in the top 10 in the NFL in both points and fewest points allowed. These are well-balanced rosters. But the edge in coaching goes heavily to the Chiefs and Andy Reid (and his staff). With quarterback Patrick Mahomes humming like his prime, the Chiefs look like they want to show that their dynasty is far from over.
So far the Raiders run defense has been susceptible (349 yards allowed, and a 4.5 YPC), though they've been able to limit rushing TDs to two. That should change on Sunday when Reid and his offensive line shove the football down the field so running back Kenneth Walker III can live up to his name and get his third TD, and then some.
If Walker scores a TD (rushing or receiving) and he runs for at least 90 yards on Sunday against the Raiders, our $100 wager will return $263 (including the stake). Remember, to win your parlay, all parts of the bet must win.
In three games the Panthers have allowed six rushing touchdowns and 580 yards, for an average of 5.7 yards per rush attempt. All three are the most in the NFL. Which is to say that against the running game, the Panther defense is toothless.
The Lions have the best all-purpose running back in the NFL, Jahmyr Gibbs. Through three games, Gibbs has earned his record contract for a RB: four TDs on the ground, and 307 yards. He is tied for the lead in the NFL in touchdowns (6 total including two by air), and also paces the league in rush attempts, averaging nearly 22 per game.
It's important to note that in Week 1, Gibbs faced a bad defensive front (the New Orleans Saints) and scampered for 156 yards and a pair of TDs on the ground. The Lions RB should have another heavy workload Sunday night when his healthier O-line works against the poor defensive front of the Panthers.
The Lions have scored exactly 31 points in each of their first three games, the first time a Detroit team has scored 30+ in its first three contests of a season. It ranks 3rd in the NFL in points, and Carolina is 5th. This should be a scoreboard-breaker on Sunday Night Football. Which is another reason I like Gibbs to find the end zone a lot.
Gibbs can score his touchdowns any way he wants, as long as he scores at least twice, our $100 bet will return $250, including the stake.
You may not realize it, but Brock Purdy is one of the NFL's most dynamic passers. He ranks in the top five in pass completions of 20+ yards through three games. That's not unusual: Purdy ranked in the top 10 in that category in 2024 and 2023 as well.
He's also the most likely QB to throw a TD: 10.8% of his pass attempts end up as touchdowns. On Sunday he'll face a stiff challenge: the Broncos defense. Except the Broncos have allowed 70 points and 1,142 yards (the 6th most). A large chunk has come through the air. Only four well-timed interceptions have helped the Denver defense dig out of trouble.
Purdy has only one interception this year. He'll be playing on his home field, and have all the offensive weapons for the first time this season. I'm going with the Niners' QB to have a big statistical game in a shootout. In four of his last five home games, Purdy has topped 275 passing yards.
A winning $100 bet will return $320.
I'll put my lot in with Bo Nix over Brock Purdy in a matchup of teams that could meet again next February in the Super Bowl.
