This Thursday, February 15, has an eight-game NHL slate, jammed packed with action. Since there is only a three-game slate on Wednesday we can jump on some best bets for Thursday now. This means we should, hopefully, get some better lines than having to wait until the last minute. So, let's dig into these NHL best bets for Thursday, February 15, 2024, and find you some winners!
BOSTON, MA - FEBRUARY 13: Brad Marchand #63 of the Boston Bruins waves to acknowledge the fans as they honor him for playing in his 1000th NHL game during the first period against the Tampa Bay Lightning at TD Garden on February 13, 2024 in Boston, Massachusetts. The Boston Bruins are one of the National Hockey League's most dominant teams. They currently sit in first place in the Atlantic Division with a 32-21 record amassing 74 points across those 53 games. Currently, on a run of eight wins across their last 12 games, they have proven why they are so dominant.
Boston averages 3.54 goals per game when playing at home and they take on a Seattle Kraken team which allows 3.04 goals per game to their opponents when playing on the road. The Bruins's home defense is just as impressive allowing just 2.38 goals per game to visiting teams. They will also be sending out goalie Jeremy Swayman who is 16-5-7 on the season. Swayman allows just 2.35 GPG which is fifth best in the NHL amongst active goalies. He also has a .922 save percentage which is good for third in the NHL.
The Kraken will be sending all they have at this tough Boston team, but that still won't be enough. Averaging just 2.50 GPG on the road this season, their floundering offense will need to find some way to take apart this stellar Bruin's defense. The Kraken haven't been able to do that against lesser teams lately, so I think they'll continue to struggle here.
The Bruins welcome any challenge but I doubt they'll be looking at the Kraken as much of one. The Kraken have won just three out of their last 11 games including four out of the last five. This Bruins team is going to smash them. Lay the puck line.

Thursday night we see the Detroit Red Wings travel to Canada to take on the high-flying Vancouver Canucks. I've had this game circled this week because it is such a great spot to nail multiple bets. There are several reasons why we should target a total and a side and we are going to dig into why.
The Canucks are one of the NHL's best team's on the offensive side of things. That dominant offense has led to a winning season and one of their best seasons in some time. Currently sitting with an 18-6 home record and this is their first home game in five games.
Yes, you read that right they just played a gauntlet of a road trip where they played Carolina, Boston, Detroit, Washington, and Chicago all on the road. They went 3-2 on the trip beating Carolina and two teams they should have easily (and did) the Capitals and Blackhawks.
The offense that averages 3.92 goals per game at home is also backed up by one of hockey's most dominant goalies, Thatcher Demko. So far this season Demko has a 29-10 record allowing just 2.44 goals per game to opposing teams. The team allows just 2.33 gpg to teams visiting them which is good for third-best in the NHL.
The combination of a high-powered offense and staggering defense makes it hard for any team to beat Vancouver let alone a Detroit team who just lost two out of their last three games. Take this Canucks team who has won 12 out of the last 16 games including five out of the last six at home. Lay the puck line.
