After a thrilling comeback against Serbia in the semifinals, Team USA is now just one win away from capturing gold in men's basketball for a fifth straight Olympics and its 17th in all.
In the way will stand the Cinderella story of these games, France. The host nation has been galvanized by overwhelming support over the last two weeks and is fresh off two straight upset wins over Canada and Germany. Now, it will try to flip the script and exact some revenge on the Americans in a rematch of the last Olympic final.
Let's get right into the best way to bet on USA vs France in the 2024 Paris Olympics men's basketball final on Saturday, Aug 10.

It's hard to take issue with Team USA to this point in the Olympics. It leads all nations in scoring at this year's competition by a wide margin, putting up 106.8 points per game and knocking down a ridiculous 45.2% of shots from outside, and Thursday's close call against Serbia was more about the caliber of opponent than anything.
While the French boast a similarly-imposing frontcourt defense as the one Team USA struggled against in the semifinals, it's not of grave concern considering the Americans are averaging five blocks per game in their own right to rank second at the games to France by percentage points.
What is a concern is the fact that France just held Germany and Canada to worse than 30% shooting from 3-point range in total, and the 3-ball is what Team USA will rely upon the most here.
I expect another highly-physical battle given the size France has inside, and while it has struggled to shoot the rock at the Olympics this team does still have plenty of capable shooters and could make up for a cold two weeks if Team USA proves to be generous once again on the perimeter.
Behind a raucous home crowd and some incredible interior defense, I think France will keep this one close. I'm closely monitoring the status of Rudy Gobert, who's been used sparingly of late thanks to a hand injury, but his minutes are trending up at the very least and he should play a role here.
Best Bet: France +16.5 (-110 at FanDuel)
We haven't seen LeBron James play in a gold medal game since 2012, but in that one he put up 19 points to finish one shy of his best night at those games and he played just shy of 30 minutes.
He's now racked up nine or more assists in two straight and has gone for eight or more in every game at the Olympics other than a blowout win over South Sudan.
I'm pretty scared of going back to the well and backing James' assists and rebounds combo given France's proficiency in rebounding the ball. What I will do, however, is go with the one constant we've seen in the last two weeks which is the passing of James. I expect him to find open teammates and be a huge factor in this one with a heavy dose of minutes.
Best Bet: LeBron James Over 8.5 Assists (+112 at FanDuel)
