Congratulations to the Seattle Seahawks on winning Super Bowl 60. I have to admit—I was pulling for no touchdowns to get scored so that the kicker (Jason Myers) would have a legitimate chance to win Super Bowl MVP, but Kenneth Walker III deserved the honor. Anyway, it’s time to discuss Super Bowl 61 odds.
Now that the 2025-26 NFL season is officially over and a new Super Bowl champion crowned, it is time to do the inevitable: move on to next season and the opening odds for Super Bowl 61.

I don’t think there are any surprises (maybe the Ravens). But no one looking to put money on right now is going to even look at the top contenders. No, after watching teams that opened with +12500 and +6000 odds play in Super Bowl 60, now is the time to bet on next season’s Seahawks.
Here are the Super Bowl 61 odds for the top 16 teams listed at FanDuel:
Defending champions typically open as the betting favorite for the next Super Bowl. If they don’t, they’ll be one of the leading contenders. So, it is not shocking to see Seattle open with the shortest odds or for the Rams to be right on their tails.

I find it surprising that the Ravens are tied with Buffalo for the third-shortest odds, given how many things are in flux for them heading into the offseason. They have 24 players set to hit free agency in the offseason. It would be unrealistic to expect to re-sign most of them, but free agency is going to be hard for them regardless.
Why? Lamar Jackson’s contract.
The Ravens’ franchise QB is set to count $74.5 million against the cap. If they don’t get him to restructure his contract, they’ll struggle to re-sign guys, let alone bring in new ones to fill the gaps on both sides of the ball.

The teams at the top of betting boards will not interest bettors right now. No, if you are betting on a Super Bowl 61 winner right now, you are looking for next season’s Seahawks. So, our picks will focus on teams with longer odds that have the potential to develop into Super Bowl contenders next year:
My aim with this list is to target teams with higher odds, but I have to start with the Patriots since their odds are so far down the list (10th shortest). Yes, they had an easy schedule, and the postseason exposed some flaws. But they have a solid GM, and Mike Vrabel is one of the best in the business.
If they make the right offseason moves and Drake Maye can continue to improve his game, the Patriots will be in the conversation once again next season.
The outcome may not have been any different had the Broncos been playing rather than the Patriots, because Bo Nix was not the most consistent quarterback, either. But if they can keep the bulk of the defense together, Sean Payton will have Bo Nix playing better next season.
They have room to improve in several areas, but I’m including the Bears on this list because Seattle head coach Mike Macdonald made the jump in his second season at the helm of the Seahawks. Bears head coach Ben Johnson did wonders with Chicago in his first season. Johnson can make this team even better as long as the Bears can bring the bulk of the roster back and improve in a couple of key areas.
Quarterback injuries caused the season to go downhill for both teams. But when Daniel Jones was healthy, the Colts were unstoppable. Jayden Daniels was not healthy long enough to get on track last season. If Washington can keep him on the field next season, the sky is the limit.
This is the one true “Seattle-type” prospect I can get behind. Now, a ton of things will need to go right for them. But the talent is there. It just has to stay healthy, and John Harbaugh has to get them to learn his system and get on the same page.
